Room in the Guesthouse Joe's Place

We are a couple french and portugues and we receive you in our guesthouse situated in a traditional Azorean house, aged more 300 years old. The house is 10mn walk away from the center of Madalena, close to the harbour, the center, the vineyards classified by UNESCO, the museum and activities. We will help you to have the best stay on Pico Island. Our breakfast is 100% vegetarian. The house is 10mn walk away from the center of the town, if you come by foot, you have to know that it goes up little bit ! So we are not into the wild : we have neighbours who maybe have dogs, chickens, car, children ...we are like in a small country village but not alone. We have the advantage to be close to the town and you can do/visit a lot of things without a car, we are over the town so with a beautifull view on Faial and the sunset and quieter than in the center. Our rooms are simples but comfortables, all with a private bathroom (please note that the room Atlantico has a private bathroom outside of the room, not ensuite). We have given priority to the recycled and local materials to install and decorate our rooms and the house: don't look for a modern, design and perfect decoration, we always prefer the home made for the decoration but also for the hospitality and the food. The heart for us is more important than the perfection, the hospitality more than the 4 stars service ! We would like that you feel at home. Wifi in the rooms and the house (on the terraces it's depend on your phone and computer because the walls are in volcanic rocks so really thick). If you need we lend you towels for the beach, just ask us. Vegetarians breakfasts are served from 7h30 to 9h30. Free private parking. The guests have access to the differents shared terraces and the garden to relax, enjoy the view, read a book, take the breakfast and meet the others travelers, all of this with a beautifull view on Faial and the sunset. Our guests are allowed to organise picnic on the terraces but there is no possibility to use a kitchen. We lend you prates and cutlery if you need, just ask us. There is a little shared fridge available for the drinks. We ask our guests to take care of the commons areas and to respect the other, mainly when it's early at the morning and late during the evening ... There is a laundry service (8 euros/washing machine) : you give us your dirty laundry and we give you back in your room the clean and folded laundry . We can help you during all your stay to discover Pico. We will be at your disposal. We are travellers also and so we like share the discover of a new place! Joe's Place is at the same time very convenient because it's only 10mn by foot of the center of Madalena (restaurants, coffe, supermarket...), 15mn of the harbour (whale watching, boats to gon to Faial), and a little bit elevated, so quiet with a nice view on Faial. But we are in the town, not in the nature. So we have neighbours, you can hear dogs, chicken, car or even baby ! You can arrive on Madalena by boat (and after Joe's Place is 1km from the harbour). The airport is 15mn by car and the harbour of São Roque is 35mn from Joe's Place. The bus stop at 600m from Joe's Place. Don't hesitate to ask us the schedules (boats, bus...)! Please, be informed that we are not responsible of the cancellation, the delay or modification of island arrival decided by the airline company or boat company (also we are not responsible of the lost luggages ...). We are really sorry for the inconvenience this may cause but please note that the night lost will not be refunded. Also for people who will do an overnight on the Pico, if you have to change the booking because of the weather conditions, please note that we don't promise you that we can change it .... in case that it's not possible, the night booked and that you will spend on the Pico will not be refunded.
