Casa Antica - Quiet and Beautiful

Casa Antica is located in a tiny, historic village (Caprino) on the shores of Lake Lugano. It was built in the late 18th century, and recently renovated to feature a gourmet kitchen, terracotta floors, and a fantastic view of the lake and mountains. Casa Antica has three floors, each 35 square meters. The top floor features the master bedroom with generous closet space, a modern bathroom with shower, and a fantastic view of the lake and Monte San Salvatore. The second floor features an open kitchen and dining area with pantry. The ground floor features a second bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a small bathroom with shower. Within a few steps from the old village, you enter Casa Antica’s beautiful garden surrounded by old vines, rosemary, and thyme. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Lake Lugano, Monte San Salvatore and Monte Bre, with Monte Lema and Tamaro in the background. The garden is shared among three houses (all members of the family) and features a selection of lounge chairs, umbrellas and tables, ideal for outdoor dining. In the evening, a beautiful sunset gives way to the lights of Lugano on the other side of the lake. The Caprino/Lugano area is ideal for hiking at all levels, including pleasant strolls along the lake with stops at Grottos or challenging hikes to the surrounding mountains. There is a 9-hole golf course in Lanzo, Italy, about 25 minutes by car. Swimming in the lake is possible at the many public shore and beach sites, to be reached by foot in 10-30 minutes. Shopping can be done in Pugerna and Arogno for groceries; and Lugano, Como or Milan for fashion. Price per night for 2 persons CHF120, additional person CHF20. Casa Antica is a beautiful, modern jewel appropriate for couples, or families with children older than 10 years. Minimum stay 5 days. Cleaning fees charged separately.
