Our beautiful semi-detached cottage, lies in the heart of the Lake District in the peaceful hamlet of Colthouse, only a short walk from the delightful village of Hawkshead. Perfect for keen walkers, with hikes on your doorstep! Croft Foot Barn lies in the tranquillity of the Lake District, within short walking distance of the village of Hawkshead. With its whitewashed houses and cobbled alleyways, Hawkshead is referred to as one of the most picturesque villages in the Lake District, once home to William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Now it offers real ale pubs, the popular Queen's Head restaurant and plenty of shops including the famous Relish Company where you can pick up local jams and chutneys made in the village. Ideally located between Lake Windermere, Tarn Hows, Lake Coniston and Grizedale forest, the area compromises of breath taking views and beautiful countryside. Activities for all the family are on your doorstep with plenty of walks for hikers, trails for mountain bikers, excellent fishing and water sports. The cottage is perfect for groups and families, providing all the essentials for a wonderful country break. The accommodation includes: - Open plan dining/lounge area, with a cosy wood burning stove, TV, wifi and a selection of board games & DVD's. - Kitchen area with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. - 2 Double bedrooms, and 1 Twin bedroom- beds made up for your arrival. - 1 Shower room with shower cubicle, WC and hand basin. - Large garden with decking area and outdoor seating, situated next to a peaceful stream- perfect for sitting out and alfresco dining. - Off road parking for 1 or 2 cars. - Fresh eggs can be bought from our neighbour across the lane! Guests have whole privacy of cottage and garden. We’re local to the area and can assist with any questions or tips you need! Croft Foot Barn lies in the small hamlet of Colthouse, which is a 10 minute walk from the popular village of Hawkshead We have parking space in a private car park outside the cottage 7 nights minimum stay, Saturday to Saturday bookings. Although we're flexible on off peak weeks and at short notice, so please send us a message as we are happy to discuss!
