Cuckoo Penn Lodge Luxury Cotswold Retreat
Cuckoo Penn Lodge is an Oak Coach house located at the foot of the Cotswold Way. The lodge has immediate access to the Cotswold Way leading directly into Penn Woods. With lovely views of the nearby common and countryside, the lodge is very peaceful. The lodge itself is spacious and has its own outside garden space with furniture and BBQ. Nearby, there are local pubs and restaurants serving food and every Saturday is the famous Stroud Farmers Market where you can try all of the local delights. Guests have sole access to the Lodge and it’s private garden with parking for 4-5 vehicles. The entrance is gated and we will ensure the gate is open for your arrival, the electric code box is not working at present. The lodge has one bedroom with a king size bed and a sofa bed in the living area downstairs. **Please note that if only 2 guests are staying and the sofa bed is required, the bedding will be an extra cost. Guests will have access to the lodge and lodge garden. The lodge has its own entrance from a private track. We will be available on site and contactable by phone if needed. Cuckoo Penn Lodge is a recently renovated old farm building which used to house pigs and chickens. Now the lodge resembles a contemporary Oak frame building which has a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The lodge has extensive views of the nearby Selsley Common, Penn Woods and Devereaux Woods. From the balcony window you can see some of the perfect rows of vineyards from the award winning Woodchester Valley Vineyard. A trip there is a must when visiting the area. Located on the Cotswold Way, the lodge is in an ideal spot for walkers. Nearby, there are pubs and restaurants serving locally produced food and every Saturday is the famous Stroud Farmers Market where you can try all of the local delights. There are many different places within walking distance of Middleyard. A short drive from the M5 J13 and nearby larger towns of Bristol (30 minutes) and Cheltenham (30 minutes) and great links to London (Train 1hr 30mins) and easy access to South Wales. The lodge is ideal for a wide range of activities. There is a bus stop just a few minutes walk away with good routes to the local towns of Stroud, Stonehouse, the city of Gloucester and Cheltenham. There are good taxi services. There are train stations in Stonehouse and Stroud with a 1hr 30mins link to London. Also a good service to Bath Spa from Cam & Dursley train station. Travel by Car- Bristol 30 minutes Cheltenham 30 minutes Gloucester 25 minutes Bath 60 minutes There are spectacular walks along The Cotswold Way in all directions and vast commons to walk and explore. The whole area is an area of natural outstanding beauty with plenty of things to do and see. Breakfast is provided in the lodge. Also included with your stay is a bottle of Red (Malbec) OR White (Sauvignon Blanc) wine. Please specify which you would like when booking with us.
