Szia. I will try to make sure, that your staying here will be the friendliest, cushiest and most unique experience, you've ever had. Or at least in the Transdanubian region of Hungary. Details: big terrace with panorama, the lake Balaton, tile stove 70 sqm, big terrace with panorama over the Transdanubian region of Hungary, the lake Balaton and basalt mountains, hills, reeds, non-active volcanoes. Sunrises and sunsets, birds, Keszthely Mountains behind you, tile stove in the living room and poultries in the garden. I can definitely help :) The house is in the Transdanubian region of Hungary. You can see Badacsony and the basalt mountains from the terrace. They are recognized for its wine, with vineyards. They are unique geological relics. Badacsony has a ferry landing as well with regular departures to Fonyód (to the southern shore of the lake) via a catamaran. If you love to hike you must visit Badacsony or its surrounding area. The diverse landscapes of hills and basins offer attractive spectacles to explore (the castle of Szigliget, basalt church in Badacsonytomaj, Exiles Stairs - Bújdosók lépcsője - w/ 464 stairs to the heaven in Badacsonytördemic or in Twin Peaks haha and sooo on…) The lake Balaton which is in 5 km from the house is the largest lake of Central Europe offers other activities as well. It is almost completely surrounded by separated bike lanes, so you can do the hungarian Tour de France if you bypass it 17 times :) But if you are not that sporty type don’t be afraid! There are a lot of beaches in 15 km along the lake, like Szigliget, Balatonederics, Balatongyörök, Vonyarcvashegy, Gyenesdiás and of course the capital of the lake: Keszthely. This city is known from its baroque palace named the Festetics Palace which is one of the three largest country houses in Hungary. The town is located near Hévíz lake (~10 km), the world’s second-largest thermal lake, but biologically the biggest active natural lake. Its temperature is affected by the combination of hot and cold spring waters, coming from 38 m deep underground. The water breaks out from a spring cave, with approx. 410 liters per second, with a temperature of 40 °C. For other interesting spots check out our guidebook. We collected there some must to go, do, see things like wineries, castles, museums, farmers markets, hiking trails. You can't go up there by public transport, the best way to get there is a car! Half of the road is asphalt and half of it is an unpaved road (dirt road/track) among beautiful bushes and trees. The house is up to the Keszthely Mountains, which means a 3-4 minutes (cc. 2 km) ride from the center of the village (Balatonederics). The landscape around the house is rich and diverse flora and fauna and offers a fine example of Hungarian country feeling. Fruit trees, vineyard, vegetable garden and as i mentioned before cocks and hens. Cocks crowing sometimes really loud just before or at the moment of sunrise but to be honest i love this natural alarm clock. The sun is rising in front of us you can easily catch it from the terrace or from the master bedroom's window if you want:) The flora and fauna requires - of course - regular care, so i have to go there every day between 4 - 5pm. I will be suppaduppa invisible and quiet!!
