Nostalgic art & retreat house close to Basel

Salon Hegenheim, a semi-detached old house, is a freaky art space, used as a place for events & retreat. The entire apartment is for your personal use. There are 3 bedrooms, the salon, kitchen, bathroom with tub, two toilets, all in a scratchy, bohemian style, full of nostalgic details and a spacious garden around. The house is located just after the border to Basel, in Hégenheim (Alscac). 5 min drive by car to Basel Kannenfeldplatz, 10 min to Basel City, public transport 15 min away by foot. The house sleeps up to 6 people, couples or good friends, if you share doublebeds. Or 3 single persons, if you want your own room/bed. The surroundings consists of fields and trees, a residential street and the "FABRIKculture", a collection of artists ateliers. From time to time you hear airplanes from the close airport, especially in summer when the windows are open. The flair of the whole plase is of an artistic nature. On purpose the house is not renovated, the walls not painted, there a cracks in the walls, texts and markes from exhibitons we had. It's the kind of house i'm always looking for, if i'm looking for a holyday house and i neve find. So i decided to offer exactly that kind of place i would wish: Wildness, freakyness, the romantic side of the beauty of "brokeness" of melancholy. If you look for a modern, sterile house it's not the right place for you. But that does not mean its not claen. I do the best, that you are cosy, everything is cleaned, the beds fresh.... In summer you can enjoy being outside in the overgrown spacious garden and make fire if you like. You are allowed to smoke in the salon. Es können 6 Personen im Haus schlafen, wenn Doppelbetten geteilt werden (ein Doppelbett ist auf einem Rost am Boden) oder 3 einzelne Personen, wenn ein eigenes Zimmer/Bett gewünscht wird. Es ist ein nostalgischer, freakiger Hausteil mitten im Grünen, umgeben von Bäumen und Kunstateliers der FABRIKculture Hegenheim. Zeitweise hört man die Flugzeuge, da der Flughafen nicht weit weg ist. Im Sommer mehr, wenn die Fenster geöffnet sind. Das Haus ist absichtlich nicht renoviert, die Wände nicht gestrichen, es hat Risse & Texte an den Wänden von Ausstellungen. Es ist die Art Haus, wie ich es immer suche, wenn ich ein Ferienhaus suche: Ein altes Haus als kleine Oase in einer Welt, in der alles neu ist. Wer etwas Mordernes Stylisches sucht, sollte weiter suchen. Wer sich wohl fühlt in einem Haus, mit Zeitspuren, fühlt sich wohl und zu Hause im Salon Hegenheim. Das Haus ist sauber und liebevoll für euch bereit gemacht. Im Sommer ist es wundervoll im grossen wilden Garten, man darf Feuer machen, wenn man möchte und im Salon darf man rauchen. Being a semi-detached house, you have your own entrance and house. There is a neighbour next door, he is a friend of mine. Eigenen Zugang zum Hausteil und Garten. Im anderen Hausteil wohnt ein Nachbar, ein Freund von mir. Hegenheim has local shopping possiblities, the closest being just opposite the house (the Biodom, organic and fresh food). Chez Lucie, a small restaurant, 3 min walk, has great food & wine & local atmosphere. Man kann in Hegenheim im Dorf einkaufen, direkt gegenüber dem Haus gibt es das Biodom, einen Bioladen mit frischem Gemüse, Käse, Brot..... und man findet alles, was man braucht. Ein paar Gehminuten zu Fuss gibt es das kleine lokale Resturant Chez Lucie, mit viel Chrame, wo man währschaftlich essen und Elsässische Weine geniessen kann. The house is just at the border to Basel, in Hegenheim, France, 5 min by car to Basel Kannenfeldplatz, 10 min to Basel Station or Messe. There is public transportation but not direct to the house. You can take a Bus to Bachgraben, but then you have to walk 15 min on foot or take a taxi. Enjoy the flair of Alsace, but having the comfort to access to the city live in Basel. ÖV Verbindungen vom Bahnhof SBB mit dem Bus, bis zum Schwimmbad Bachgraben Von da sind es 10 - 15 Minuten zu Fuss. Oder man nimmt vom Bachgraben ein Taxi über die Grenze. Enjoy the flair of Alsace, but having the comfort to access to the city live and culture in Basel. It's good if you have your own car or use a taxi, then ou can head off to Basel and visit nice bars, restaurants, concerts, museums... In summer you should have a swim in the Rhine or in the outdoorpool (3 min by car) at Bachgraben just close by, or take a little walk around Hégenheim to the Jewish cemetery and have lunch in the nice local restaurant "Chez Lucie", where they offer local food and wines.
