Nestled in Beautiful Landscape, Away from it All
Newly constructed studio apartment, new appliances, queen size bed, in quiet surroundings on a dirt road. Has it's own entrance and patio. Within 15 minute driving from Madrid, NM, 10 minutes drive to Cerrillos and 40 minutes from downtown Santa Fe, the advantage of this place is the serene environment it sits in. Beautiful walks and views, very quiet and wonderful star gazing. You have the use of washer and dryer (or you can hang your clothes out to dry and have them sun-dried New Mexico style. The kitchen is part of the room, fully equipped with a gas stove, toaster, coffee maker, and full refrigerator, (but no microwave), so you can enjoy cooking at home, or take a short ride to Cerrillos and dine at the Blackbird, or at the Hollar in Madrid (beware of dessert, it is very large and very good). You have your own patio to sit on, and the use of the entire back yard. There will be coffee, tea, cereal, pasta and rice available in the kitchen, please be advised that the next full grocery store is about 40 minutes away (the convenient store is in Madrid with some basics). The water on the property is clean well water and can be used from the tap as drinking water. The last mile to reach the home is a dirt road, but accessible by most cars. It only becomes harder to navigate after a rain, in which case a 4 wheel drive is recommended. The apartment is attached to the garage and you will park just a few steps from the entrance to your space, which is detached from the main house, but close by. Parking will be outdoors but on the property. You will only have any interaction with me if you choose. If there are any issues or concerns, either I or my housemate will be available quickly, but other than that, you will not have any interaction from us. Nearby Cerrillos has a restaurant, coffee and art place, petting zoo and mining museum and the possibility to go horseback riding in the state park, which is a very beautiful ride. Madrid is an artist village and a must see with all of its stores and food options. Right around the house, you will have the ability to take walks on dirt roads with very little car traffic. The drive to Santa Fe on Highway 14 is the scenic route and quite beautiful. Driving South you will be getting to the back side of the Sandia Mountain with a stunning view of Albuquerque. The house is run by solar energy, and wind power, with grid backup. The windmill creates some white noise when the wind is strong. If you are very noise sensitive, you may not like this, but most guests have had no issue. All greywater is re-used, so you have a semi 'off the grid' experience. You have wifi strong enough to watch movies on your device, but no TV in the space.
