Spacious and bright apartment with spectulair view
Vista is one of the four apartments of Quinta Olivia it measures 75m2 on two floors. You enter Vista via the spacious living room with open kitchen. From the comfortable sofa one has a magnificent view over the Vade valley and the mountains of Peneda-Gerês. Through the stairs you enter the bedroom downstairs. It is equipped with a double bed (1.6x2.0m) and en-suite bathroom with large shower. There is a separate toilet. The French doors in the bedroom open onto the private terrace and garden. Quinta Olivia is a charmingly restored farmhouse from 1778 with four maisonettes. The maisonettes are light and spacious with a living room, kitchen, bedrooms with en suite bathroom and a private terrace with a spectacular view of the Vade valley and the Penede Gerês nature reserve. The Quinta is located on a private 2,5 hectare property in one of the greenest areas in Europe. Guests can use facilities such as the swimming pool and free wifi. For culture, visit Braga, Porto and Santiago de Compostela in Spain about an hour away. For those who would rather spend the day at the beach, the lovely sandy beaches of Afife are only 45 minutes away. We respect your privacy, but when you need us we are always nearby Centrally located Quinta Olivia is centrally located in the Minho, at the foot of the Peneda do Gerês National Park. From the your apartment it is a 20 minutes drive. Quinta Olivia is also a good base for visiting cities such as Braga (30 minutes), Guimarães (45 minutes) and Porto (60 minutes). Santiago de Compostela, too, is a well-reachable distance for a day trip at 1.5 hours. The Dutch owners are happy to help you plan activities such as hiking in the Peneda do Gerês, visiting a market or monastery. And for those who prefer to spend a day at the beach under the sun than at the swimming pool of the Quinta: the beautiful sandy beaches of Viana do Castelo, Afife and Vila Praia de Âncora are just 45 minutes away. What to do in the area Hiking There are several hiking routes in the Peneda do Gerês nature reserve. We have maps from hiking tours with starting point, progress, duration and sights during the hike. They are also available at the visitor centers (portas) of the nature reserve in Mezio, Lindoso and Campo do Gerês. Cities that are worth a visit Ponte de Lima: dining, market, gardens Viana do Castelo: shopping, beach Braga: shopping, Bom Jesus, Cathedral (Sé) Guimarães: beautiful medieval town with castle Barcelos: market every Thursday Porto: culture, port tasting Valença: beautiful fortified town, popular with Spaniards because of the linen Vigo (Spain): restaurants (seafood and fish), shopping Markets On Mondays every other week there’s a market in Ponte de Lima (ask Stephan or Marcel as to whether the market is the Monday of your stay). A visit to the oldest market in the country (1125) is definitely worth your while. Missed it? Every Thursday there is a market in Barcelos. Here are basically the same vendors as in the Ponte de Lima market. On Mondays when there is market in Ponte de Lima, there is market on Wednesday in Ponte da Barca. On the other Wednesdays there is market in Arcos de Valdevez. Mountain Biking Enjoy a morning (or afternoon) mountain biking the Eco-Via along the river Lima. Mountain bikes are for rent (1st hour € 5,-; consecutive € 4,-) at InMountain, Largo de S. João 87/89, Ponte de Lima. due to the lack of public transport a (rental)car is necessary PREVENTION AND INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES IN QUINTA OLIVIA Pool (shared with other guests) Scientists agree that water chlorination is sufficient to eliminate the virus. So water is not the problem. What is important is the disinfection of the materials (chairs, sun-beds for common use and keeping the distance. There is a maximum of 10 guests at Quinta Olivia. Even in the exceptional cases where all guests wish to use (the area around) the pool at the same time, the space around the pool is large enough to keep their distance. We recommend: - do not enter the water with more than 2 people at the same time - keep distance min 2 meters - clean the lounger or chair before using it with a disinfectant spray (found in the pool bathroom) - always use your - own - bath towel (available in your apartment) Swimming pool water treatment The water is disinfected with a combination of chlorine and ultraviolet light in the cleaning facility. Loungers, chairs Use of individual bath towels is mandatory if using furniture. These are the light bath towels found in the apartment. Sunbeds and chairs are regularly disinfected. For extra security we recommend the use of an anti-disinfectant spray and disposable paper towels (available in the bathroom in the pool area). Bathroom Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the use of the bathroom in the pool area is not allowed. Guests are advised to use the private bathroom in the apartment. Barbecue Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the risk of wildfire, the use of the common barbecue is not allowed. Washing machine for common use We advise you to use an anti-disinfectant wipe to clean the buttons and the handle of the machine before use. Private areas (the apartments and terrace) Cleaning is done according to the DGS COVID-19 protocol: - Wet where possible and applicable - Use of exclusive cleaning cloths for the bathroom - Surfaces are cleaned with detergent, then disinfected with bleach as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The sanitary facilities are washed and disinfected with a mixed cleaning product (detergent and disinfectant in the composition) After cleaning, some surfaces of frequent touch are sprayed with virucid, such as light switches, cabinet and door handles, faucets Laundry treatment According to the DGS advice, bed linen and towels are washed at 60oC with a dermatologically tested detergent.
