Sunny spacious, comfortable apartment with a living room, dining room, and three large bedrooms located in the historic center of a picturesque town in the Tuscan hills. Perfect for a large family or sharing with another family. Free parking nearby. Walking distance to the train station. Shops along the main street. The apartment is perfect for families and extended families. There is a large dining table to accommodate families, and plenty of seating space in the living room. Many characteristics of the original space have been preserved - marble floors, a large marble fireplace, tall arched windows in the front of the apartment and two small balconies in the back, bringing in lots of light. The apartment has been recently updated to include modern renovations to the kitchen and bathroom, and the addition of a washer and dryer. The apartment is on the second floor. The entire apartment is accessible to guests. My niece Cecilia Amaducci and her partner Marco Dattile will be your contacts and hosts. Marco is fluent in English. They are available via email or text or Whats App. The town is located in the valley of the Serchio River. It dates back to 1100 and is very picturesque with a narrow winding main street and mountains rising high above the town. The apartment is on a street with small grocery stores, pastry shops, cafes, clothing stores, wine shops, and is across the street from a pizzeria for quick take-out meals. The local tourist office is open year-round. The town swimming pool is open during the summer. Places to Visit: Ponte del Diavolo or Devil's Bridge (Maddalena Bridge); Museum of the World War II Gothic Line, with tours of German bunkers; a monastery; the nearby towns Bagni di Lucca for thermal spas, Barga, a medieval town, and Lucca, a well-known Tuscan city surrounded by walls; Torre del Lago for summer opera and tours of Puccini's house. The apartment is 30 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea, an easy day trip to beach towns Viareggio and Forte di Marmi. Local Celebrations: Halloween (October 31), Azalea Festival (April). Mountain hiking and biking opportunities are available through the local tourist office. Everything you need in the town is within walking distance. There is easy and free parking nearby. The train station is close and connects with trains that can take you anywhere in Italy and Europe. The hosts are welcoming and very helpful. My niece Cecilia Amaducci is the proprietor of Cecilia Lavanderia, a few steps away so is easily available for consultation.
