A perfect base to explore Surrey's stunning National Trust sites, with golfing, fishing, cycling,rambling and country pubs all within easy reach. Purpose built, Briar Lodge offers complete privacy and secure parking. Outside, there is a patio area with charcoal bbq and views across the fields and woodland with access to the garden and terrace to the main house in the summer. Inside we have provided everything we would like to find on a short stay ourselves. There is an en-suite shower room with plenty of towels and toiletries, towelling dressing gowns, a flat screen tv with free view and wifi, complimentary chilled bottled water and soft drinks, fresh fruit as well as a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. A fridge, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine with a selection of coffees are provided along with a variety of ‘Tea Pig’ and Pukka teas. If you wish to have breakfast a substantial freshly prepared breakfast of your choice, using the finest local produce, is served to your room between 7am to 11am to enjoy at the breakfast bar or (weather permitting) on the patio or terrace. There is an additional charge of £9.00 per person for this payable during your stay. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options are catered for and guests are requested to advise in advance of any special dietary requirements. A travel cot is available on request. It is almost mandatory that our guests feel at ease to access all areas of our property! If you have the time, we are well placed to explore Surrey. Briar Lodge is almost equidistant to the historic and vibrant market towns of of Dorking and Horsham, both offering a wealth of cafes,restaurants and unique shops. Dorking town centre is only eight minutes by car with easy access into London by rail, and Horsham town centre is 15 minutes by car. We are also well placed to cater for the many wedding venues that are nearby and offer several wedding packages - details available on request. The grounds are also available to hire for venues - again details on request The National Trust treasures of Polesden Lacey, Petworth, Clandon Park and Arundel Castle are all within easy striking distance. For the fishing enthusiast, the tranquil Henfold Lakes are a few minutes walk away and golfers will enjoy the excellent golf courses nearby. Popular with ramblers and cyclists alike, nearby Box Hill offers a wealth of picturesque woodland walks and access to the challenging Olympic cycle route. A few minutes drive away from Briarwood you can access the wealth of atmospheric country pubs and restaurants that are abundant in the many picturesque and historic villages Surrey is renowned for. We are happy to help recommend some of the best places to go to. We are around most days and evenings for guests and are happy to help them get the most from their stay. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and perfectly placed to enjoy outdoor pursuits as well as satisfy even the most ardent of shoppers, it would be hard to find a more perfectly located space to stay. Ideal for a stopover before catching an early flight from Gatwick, or to catch your breath on the way back or simply for taking some much needed time out. There is no direct bus route. I am happy to take guests to the local pub or pick up from and drop off at the main train stations in Dorking. From there frequent trains to London, Guildford, Gatwick etc are available To get the most out of your visit, a car is a must! Box Hill, Leith Hill, Denbies Wine Estate and the amazing National Trust properties within the area are all well worth a trip. Although only a ten minute drive away from Dorking, we are not on a bus route and as a rural area have no street lamps or pavements. You can however access many of the lovely bridle paths and footpaths around - one will take you to Holmwood train station with trains into London and Horsham and another will lead you into the village of Newdigate with a small local shop and post office and a great pub to enjoy lunch or dinner.
