Ardeer Steading is a 4 bed room converted farm steading situated on 107 acre working farm in Ayrshire, and only half a mile from an open sandy beach. located in a very accessible part of Scotland, its easy to access both the surrounding countryside and coastline of Ayrshire & Arran that includes some of Ayrshires top golf courses, and with Scotlands largest city, Glasgow, being 30 minutes by train from here you are never far from a culture fix and fantastic restaurants of the big city. Whether your stay with us is a long one, or just for an overnight stay, we will do our best to ensure that it is enjoyable and memorable. Ardeer Mains Farm is owned and run by my family who have lived and worked the farm for the last 60 years, Ardeer Mains in the early years, has went from being a predominantly a farm holding with a dairy heard, to a mixed farm today and has over the last 15 years also developed tourist accommodation by converting one of the farm buildings in to 4 different properties for renting. The surrounding fields and are still used to grow spring barley, hay and silage, and graze our own cattle, and despite being farm based, you are never too far away from good public transport and road network. We don't spend great amounts of money on advertising because we believe that a good experience is the source of our best recommendations. Have a look at some feedback from some of our visitors that have stayed here, and going back several years on TripAdvisor Ardeer Steading is a converted farm steading based on a 100 acre working farm. There are up to 4 en-suite bedrooms available. The unit consist of 3 large double bedrooms ( 2 upstairs and 1 on the ground floor ) and 1 further triple room upstairs, this gives the flexibility for even 2 people to book a short break and make it affordable, right up to 9 people booking all 4 rooms. When a booking is made, that booking will have sole access to the whole facility, no mater how many people that particular booking consists of, you will not share the facilities with any one else. There is a Morrisons Supermarket with in a few minutes drive for people who may be staying longer. When booking, if you have any allergies, inform us, the more we know about your booking and preferences, the more we can help. Most of the rooms have views overlooking the farms own land, and if you prefer not to look out the windows, all bedrooms have their own flat screen TV's and also offer USB charging points in every room. The internet has now been updated to fibre broadband. As we are a working farm, we will be around in the main farm house most times of the day or night should you have any problems or questions during your stay, or even if you just want to come round and ask a few questions on the farm or places of interest to visit whilst staying here. A contact number is also available for guests to call at any time. We have a travel cot and mattress available to use should guests with young children require it, but it is kindly advised that guests should bring appropriate bedding of their preference for the travel cot. 3 bedrooms are on the first floor, people with young children should be aware of this fact when booking in case stairs are an issue, every bedroom has its own en-suite and own TV. We will endeavour to accommodate early check in or later check out when possible. I live in the main farm house and work every day on the farm along with my parents, Ardeer Steading was converted into an independent unit some time ago, and guests staying here can see as much or as little as they wish of us, but, we will always be available to assist or answer questions should the need arise. Some cities and areas recently have rules covering home sharing, In most places, you must register, get a permit, or obtain a license before you list your property or accept guests, for your peace of mind Ardeer Steading is fully approved to run as a Holiday rental property. Stevenston is a small town in North Ayrshire, Scotland. It is one of the "Three Towns" along with Ardrossan and Saltcoats. The town's main link with Robert Burns is that Mayville House was the birthplace in 1768 of Miss Lesley Baillie. Robert Burns met her in 1792 and described her to a friend as "the most beautiful, most elegant woman in the world". She inspired one or two of his love poems, in which she is described as 'Bonnie Lesley'. A memorial now stands in her memory and is situated between Sinclair Street and Glencairn Street. Ayrshire is described as one of best golf destinations in the world, with nearly 50 courses to choose from including 5 of the UK's top 100 courses and 3 Open Championship venues. The area has easy access to a good road network, allowing guests and visitors based here to visit a great deal more in this part of Scotland on individual day trips. Being only 3.5 miles from the ferry port at Ardrossan, almost everyone will at one time visit the Isle of Arran. An island in the Firth of Clyde and known at " Scotland in miniture " and a great day out can be had on the Island from here. Loch Lomond can be reached in just over an hour, It’s part of The Trossachs National Park. The surrounding highlands area is home to red deer and oak woodlands. On the eastern shore, footpaths and cycle trails criss-cross Ben Lomond mountain. Across the loch sits the ancient Luss village, with its old stone cottages. Ardeer Steading although surrounded by its own farm lands is not remote by any means and not only has access to a good road network but also good public transport links. With the local train station at Stevenston 1 mile away and a mainline station at Kilwinning 1.9 Miles away its very easy to get to and from Glasgow Central in as little as 26 Minutes. For anyone that wishes to travel further afield from here its quite easy, its not unknown for guests during August to get a train from Kilwinning right over to Edinburgh and spend the whole day at the world famous Fringe Festival. There is a bus stop 450 metres from the farm, from here you can access local buses every 10 minutes, a 585 service every 30 minutes, and the X36 service that travels to and from Glasgow Buchanan bus station at least 10 times a day throughout the week, this journey takes approximately 1 hour, which means you can have a glass of wine over lunch in the city and once you get of the bus, walk back to the farm in a few minutes with no driving required. And if you are driving, here are some handy directions on your last part of the journey : Travelling North on the main A78 dual carriageway, just as you approach a large roundabout you will see a sign for " Stevenston " If you stay in the left hand lane on approach to this ( as there is now a new filter lane that will take you directly past the left hand side of this roundabout and on to the now named A738 ). Travel 200 meters to the first mini-roundabout and go straight through, travel a further 400 meters and at the next mini-roundabout BEFORE you enter the town of Stevenston just look for a sign that says " Ardeer Beach " and this is where you turn down to your left, ( B752 ) a further 100 yards down the gentle hill, turn left again where it is signed " No through road " & we are first farm on your right. There is a Morrisons supermarket less than a half mile from the accommodation that is open from 7am till 10pm, this is great when it comes to buying food for your stay, it also has a cafe on site which opens at 8am for breakfast, or even just a coffee. For guests that cant sleep, there is also a 24 hour Tesco only a few miles away in the town of Irvine :) The local towns also have their own butchers, bakeries and coffee shops. A great suggestion for guests that might want to head over to The Isle of Arran, Cecchini's at the ferry terminal at Ardrossan can do nice breakfasts before you head with tea or coffee, or if you are starting early, you can sit back and enjoy breakfast on board the ferry, Or Mocha is also a nice choice.
