Comfortable Apartment in Rural Kent
Comfortable apartment in a bungalow in the central Kent village of Offham. Easy access London, the Kent coast, and channel crossings. The M26/M25 and M20 motorways are just 10 minutes away. Beautiful countryside setting high above the road -- perfect for lovely walks in the country and visits to the village pub. Property has a large garden and parking for up to two cars. The accommodation is one half of this 1920 country bungalow and comprises of one large double bedroom and one medium double bedroom, spacious sitting/dining room with TV. Fitted galley kitchen with hob, oven, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Shower room/WC. Includes all linen and towels and basic store cupboard, including cooking oil, salt, sugar, tea, coffee and welcome pack of basics - bread, butter, jam and marmalade, milk and biscuits. Access is via the main front door to the bungalow, and guests will be provided with their own key for the duration of their stay. Guests have access to the gardens and patio furniture. Due to steep slopes and unfenced areas, the property is not suitable for guests with small children. Not suitable for wheelchairs. There is off road parking available for up to two cars. I will be available throughout the day to offer help and assistance. I am always happy for you to knock on my door if there is anything you need, and will provide you with my mobile number if you need to contact me when off site. The house is set high above a pleasant wooded valley with easy access to footpaths leading to nearby Mereworth Woods, the North Downs and the Medway valley. Offham is an ancient village with some nice old houses and a village green, where on the Saturday closest to 1st May we hold May Day, crowning the may queen, and maypole and morris dancing. Fancy dress competition for the children and lots of stalls and amusements. The pub has a Pimms tent and there is a tea tent well stocked with home made cakes. Also on the village green is the Quintain where they used to joust on horseback, trying to spin the quintain without being unseated by the bag of sand hanging from the other end of the 'paddle'. Access to M20 junction 3 or 4 for London, the Kent coast, channel tunnel and Dover ferries. Also M26 junction 2A for M25, Gatwick and Heathrow airports and the Dartford Thames crossing. Both routes 10 mins away. London Victoria station is 45 - 55 minutes from West Malling Station. There is car parking at the station, or a taxi service to take you there, approx. cost £7.00. Cheap day return tickets are from 9.30 am and make a considerable saving on the fare. If available I am happy to give lifts to and from the station (not after 6.30p.m.). The sitting room has a selection of card and board games, jigsaw puzzles and books. If you have not finished a book you have started you are welcome to take it with you when you leave (they are mostly discontinued library books!) As well as the TV/DVD player there is also a video player and a selection of vintage video tapes - MASH, Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp etc. I am advised by my children that this vintage (i.e. old) piece of equipment should GO, but a number of guests have said they have enjoyed using it so it stays.
