Flint Cottage is a separate building of flint construction . Access via the courtyard of the main house. The door opens into the kitchen area and to the living room. The kitchen comprises a range of modern units with a fridge, a stove and a microwave oven. The stairs lead to the first floor bedroom which covers the top floor. Carpeted floor with neutral décor, built in wardrobes. A modern shower room overlooks the garden. It has a utility area with a washing machine and work surface. We speak several languages in addition to English: French, German, Spanish and Russian. The village of Westham started life as a HAM-let to the WEST of Pevensey, hence the name. It’s history is inextricably entwined with that of its better known neighbour and the Norman conquest of (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , and the village is home to what is believed to be the first Norman Church in England; the 11th Century Church of St. Marys. The village has a 3rd century Roman fortress and an 11 century Norman castle. Today the village offers a key modern feature which is the mainline rail link with services to Brighton, Lewes and London from the station which is just a few minutes' walk from the High Street. As well as the village store, Pevensey and Westham benefit from three pubs, a fish and chip shop, a couple of restaurants and more buildings of historic importance than you can shake a stick at. Westham is a proper community with village fayres, the annual scarecrow festival, the village hall with clubs and events throughout the year, and the village pond complete with ducks. To the coastal side, the Pevensey Levels are a haven for all manner of birds and wildlife. There is easy car access to the A22 and A27 for commuters, and the bustling town of Eastbourne is just 10 minutes’ drive. There is a railway station 5 minutes walk away with easy access to London, Brighton, Eastbourne and Ashford International. There is a regular bus service to Eastbourne.
