Ffynnon Deg, great views - no added cleaning cost
Ffynnon Deg is located in the beautiful Ceiriog Valley and has been renovated to a high standard. The views from the cottage are spectacular and there is a network of footpaths and bridleways from the door making it ideal for walkers, and mountain bikers. There are three pubs within a mile which serve meals. The historic town of Llangollen is 6 miles away and Chester and Shrewsbury less than an hours drive. Pets and children are welcome, towels and bedding are supplied. Ffynon Deg has been recently totally renovated to a high standard including insulating all internal walls. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave and dishwasher and there is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Two woodburners, with some logs supplied, provide additional heating to the electric storage heaters. There is outside table and seating for enjoying the amazing views. The water supply for Ffynnon Deg is provided by a recently drilled borehole, which has been tested and passes through a UV purification system. This should prevent any recurrence of the water shortages experienced due to the extremely hot and dry summer of 2018. There is an outside tap at Ffynnon Deg for washing muddy boots and bikes and also a locking point to secure bikes. Pets and families are welcome. Guests have access to the whole house, and area around it. We own the fields in front of Ffynnon Deg and guests will be welcome to explore these (provided they sign a waiver form recognising that they do so at their own risk) and abide by the welcome notes as to where they can go dependent on where stock is grazing. It is also worth baring in mind we do have free range chickens, which are great for the eggs but irresistible to some dogs! I am usually around and happy to provide help if required. Ffynnon Deg is a mile outside the village of Glyn Ceiriog, which includes a pub where you can obtain meals, a Spar shop, a chemist, a Post Office, a saddlers and a doctors surgery. The closest place to eat is the Mulberry Inn which is in the small village of Llwynmawr half a mile from the cottage. The Ceiriog Valley is a beautiful area to explore, the hills can be challenging but the varied, stunning views make the effort worthwhile. The area has an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways with several published longer routes. There are many interesting places to visit within the locality, including the aquaducts at Chirk and Pontcysyllte. Llangollen has a steam railway, the ruined Castell Dinas Bran, Plas Newydd historical house, an indoor climbing wall and more dramatic scenery. With Chester and Shrewsbury less than an hours drive away there really is something for everyone. Buses are available from Glyn Ceiriog and the nearest train station is in Chirk. Horse riding can be booked at Spring Hill Stables. Quad biking and pony trekking at Pont-y-Meibion Centre just outside Pandy. There is an indoor climbing wall just 6 miles away in LLangollen where there are at least two companies which offer water activities. I am allowing 72 hours between guests to ensure everyones safety during covid-19.
