A small homely cottage set in a quiet charming street in Pontyrhyl, on a no through road, amongst the beautiful mountains of South Wales. Perfect for a tranquil retreat or active break - whatever takes your fancy! 2 bedroom property with the capacity to sleep 6. Quaint cottage with log burner and triple glazed windows. Fully equipped kitchen with washer dryer and fridge freezer. Shower and bath included for unwinding at the end of the day. Off road parking included for one car. There is an open plan living room/dining area and kitchen on the ground floor. 2 bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. A private outdoor seating area is located opposite the property - perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sounds of nature and the nearby river. A large storage space is also available, aside the seating area, for bikes, scooters etc. There is a TV in the living room. The TV is streaming only, inc. Netflix, Amazon, BBC iPlayer etc. There is also a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. There are stair guards and a travel cot available at the property. Please advise on booking whether you would like these assembled in readiness for your stay. COVID 19 There is a lock box at the property to allow self check-in. The code will be sent prior to your arrival. Although it’s safer currently that we don’t meet, we will be very happy to assist with any queries you may have, by phone. Hand sanitiser and antibacterial spray will be provided for guests to use while in the property. Should any guest develop symptoms or are required to self isolate before your arrival please do inform us, as soon as possible, and we can arrange a full refund. Available by phone during stay. Hiking and cycle tracks are within walking distance (either end of the road) and there is plenty to do in the area, including Porthcawl seaside, Margam and Bryngarw Country Park and Wiggleys Fun Farm. A little further afield is Ogmore-by-sea and Southerndown, seaside villages in St Brides Major boasting stunning beach views and coastal walks. Located 5 miles from the M4 motorway it is central to Swansea (40 minutes drive) and Cardiff (35 minutes drive). Situated 7 miles from Bridgend town centre where you can find an array of delicious dining options to cater for all, including Indian, Italian, Spanish and British pub grub. There is also a lovely Chinese close by in Aberkenfig. Bridgend has a small shopping high street with indoor market and just outside of the centre, 8 minutes drive, there lays McArthur Glen Designer Outlet which also includes the Odeon cinema. Jump Jam Trampoline Park and Once Upon a Playtime indoor playground are 20 minutes away and a great way for the children to burn off some energy. Situated in the hamlet of Pontyrhyl, the cottage is centrally located between Cardiff and Swansea and is accessible by car or train, from Bridgend Train station. Nestled in the heart of the countryside it boasts forest walks on its doorstep and an abundance of hiking, walking and cycle routes in the local area such as the Garw Valley walks which include Parc Calon Lan and Darren Fawr Mountain Bike Trails.
