New listing. The Bakers Cottage was the original home attached to the old bakery in Tuross Heads and is now our holiday home. The Bakers Cottage and The Old Bakery (listed separately) are in the old part of Tuross Heads, walking distance to just about everything this beautiful beach town has to offer. The houses can be rented separately (Bakers Cottage sleeps 5 comfortably) or together (sleep another 5 in the Old Bakery) so are perfect for couples, families or large groups (no parties). The Bakers Cottage is the perfect space for a family, 2 couples or half your group of you book both the Cottage and The Old Bakery. There are 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds, one with a queen and the other with a queen and a single. The modern central bathroom has a shower over bath, toilet and vanity. There is cosy lounge room with TV and DVD player and a combustion fire place for those there on cooler nights. The kitchen is well equipped with all you will need for your beach break and has a 6 seat dining table. There is a large deck accessed from the kitchen overlooking the beautiful tree lined garden, perfect for your dinner and drinks after a great day at the beach. The block that the Bakers Cottage and The Old Bakery sit on is surrounded by a native reserve (Chattem Park) on 2 sides at the rear giving real privacy and a beautiful green outlook. The reserve is a public space so people do walk through and past the back yard from time to time. There is a garage that is locked from the front for owners use but through the back door (to which you will have a key) is the laundry and another shower and toilet. This space, the washing line and the garden are available to guests of both the Bakers Cottage and The Old Bakery. If no-one is staying at The Bakery it's all yours! If there are other guests please share respectfully or you may choose to join forces for backyard cricket! You will also find an outdoor shower (with warm water) and a second washing line between the two houses which is for use by guests of both properties. This is a great space for a post-beach rinse off and hanging of towels and bathers. Our family use our beach house often for small and large gatherings so you will find everything you should need for your stay and hopefully a warm, family, holiday house vibe! There is a key safe at the font of the cottage that you will be given the code to before your arrival. There are some shared spaces (Laundry, washing line, back yard and outdoor shower). We don't live locally so you will not meet us during your stay but you will have a phone contact and we encourage you to get in touch with us if you have any questions or problems. We have very friendly neighbours who keep an eye on our house for us and you may meet them during your stay. Tuross Heads is beautiful 'old school' beach town. With everything you need available you can genuinely unpack relax and not go anywhere! Within a 5 minute walk you can access Lavendar Bay, a beautiful spot on the inlet perfect for launching kayaks and fishing for flat head. The 'lifeguard' beach is a 10 minute walk away and the back beach another 5-10 minutes (on foot) further along the foot/bike path that runs along the foreshore of the length of town. There are endless beautiful beaches to choose from in all the little surrounding towns, such as Potato Point, Broulee and Mossy Point. Evans Rd is where you will find the main shops, a small IGA, butcher, bakery, newsagent, hardware, service station, pharmacy and Sails take away (great fish and chips). This is a 15 minute walk along the footpath but there is heaps of parking if you decide to drive down. Closer to home, a 5 minute walk on Trafalgar Road, you will find the Tuross Boat Shed, which is lovely spot for a coffee or fish and ships or an evening drink in the summer months, right on the lakes edge. Next door is the Pickled Octopus, a lovely Thai restaurant, which also does takeaway. You can get bait and fishing gear at both the servo and the Boat Shed. Moruya is 22km north and Narooma is 37km south if you need big supermarkets and other stores. Moruya also has an airport with regular flights to Sydney daily. The well renowned Mogo Zoo and Mogo Village are a little further on from Moruya (36km) and worth a visit. The Bakers Cottage is close enough to walk to the beaches, shops and cafes of Tuross Head and there is a great foot/bike path that runs along the foreshore for a number of km's. There are some lovely walks in the nearby Eurobodalla National Park including a beautiful 14km coastal walk from Congo to Tuross Head that takes you to some beautiful, quiet beaches. We have done with small children so it's pretty accessible.
