The Oast House

My north facing house gets plenty of sun, and the floor to ceiling windows in each room make it light and open. There is a large open patio with table and chairs, a large day bed, and BBQ. Off the patio is a pool room. There is plenty of room for you to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the garden and the sounds of all the local native birds. You may even see some of our friendly parrots stop by for a feed, or the family of Kookaburras that drop in most mornings. I love this area, and am happy to help you plan your day visiting the local sights, or finding one of our superb restaurants to dine at. If you don't have a car, contact me to arrange for a pick-up from Belgrave train station. As I am also a licensed Uber and private rideshare driver, I am happy to drive you around the area to visit those places you want to see. The guest wing is all yours, and you are welcome to use the shared living area, kitchen, patio and pool room. You are welcome to use the kitchen or BBQ to cook dinner. A continental breakfast is included, and a cooked breakfast can be arranged if you would like one, as can dinner on your arrival night. Just contact me direct. I have a cot, high chair, pram and car seat, so if you have a young baby, you won't need to bring loads of things with you. The air conditioning is only in the main living area, but both bedrooms have fans, and heaters for those cooler winter nights. I love my garden, and growing all my own fruit and vegetables. There is normally something to pick, and if you want to cook a meal, I'm sure the garden will be able to add something to your ingredients. I love meeting new people, and hearing about all the places they have visited. Having spent 30 years travelling around the world, getting to know others is one of the pleasures in my life. Located in the heart of the Dandenongs, Monbulk is only a short drive to all the great places this area has to offer, including the nearby Yarra Valley. It's only a 7 minute drive to Puffing Billy railway, and the same to Olinda and Mt Dandenong. If you like visiting gardens, there are more than enough to keep you busy for a few days, with the renowned National Rhododendron gardens, Cloudhill, and many more only a few minutes drive away. With my circular drive, you can park right in front of the front door. There is only one small step down from the drive to the house level, and no steps in the house, making it ideal for those who have trouble with stairs. I am close to a number of the local wedding venues, and many of my guests stay because my house is so close to these venues, so please feel free to contact me for more details.
