Beautiful 4 bedroom Cottage, Cwmbach Farm
Cwmbach Farm is a beautiful well equipped traditional welsh stone cottage surrounded by open countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property has a wealth of traditional features including fire places & oak beams. Within the boundary wall are gardens suitable for children to play or to sit, relax and enjoy the views. Located within a short walking distance are the villages of LLangattock and Crickhowell with plenty of pubs, eateries & a wide variety of small independent shops. The Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal is a few minutes’ walk away offering the opportunity to go boating or for a relaxing walk along the tow path. The cottage is on the edge of a SSSI (site of special scientific interest) called Craig-y-Cilliau and attracts a wealth of wildlife with woodpeckers, buzzards, sparrow hawks and peregrine falcons etc One of the views from the cottage is of Llangattock Escarpment which contains an extensive network of caves one of which has a large entrance where you can walk inside. Others are locked like Agen Allwedd (Access to the cave is with a key from the Caving Association). The property is finished to a high standard with a smart TV, Wifi as well as many traditional features. The property has a spiral stair case which may not be suitable for all but one bedroom and bath room is located on the ground floor with easy access. Farm House Kitchen; The kitchen and dining area are in the same room. Ideal to sit and chat whilst preparing meals. The kitchen is hand built with a Belfast sink, double electric oven, a halogen hob, fridge, microwave, and plenty of work and storage space. Theres also a wood burning stove Utility Room; Contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and a fridge/ freezer. A selection of childrens toys, jigsaws, outdoor cricket and croquet are stored here. Sitting Room; Has a coal stove, great oak beams giving the room a wealth of character, two large comfortable sofas and chairs, Smart TV with basic SKY Freeview package. Bedroom 4 (downstairs) : double bed with patio doors leading out to a courtyard. Downstairs shower room with a power shower, handbasin and toilet. A wrought iron spiral stairs takes you upstairs (the stairs may not be suitable for all) Bedroom 1: master bedroom has wonderful views of the escarpment and the Black Mountain has a double bed an en-suite bath, hand basin and toilet. Bedroom 2: double bed overlooking the valley. Bedroom 3: two single beds overlooking the valley. A family bathroom with bath, toilet and hand basin. Bed linen and towels provided. Electricity and oil central heating included Cot and high chair available Wifi available Enough wood/coal is supplied for an average week/weekend use for the stoves. Fold up bed is available on request. Mobile reception reasonable. Ample parking for several cars. A lovely big enclosed and partly walled sunny garden with furniture and a BBQ. Mountain bike storage on request. Check in is after 3.30 p.m. Check out is before 10.00 a.m. .....please be aware..... -The area is distinctly agricultural, with plenty of sheep (and lambs in the Spring), hence no dogs..... -Strictly no smoking in the cottage please. -Several steps up to the front door but there is flat access through the garden to the cottage. -You may need to reverse in the lane if you meet oncoming traffic! -The Cottage is accessed along a short track suitable for most vehicles Nia has grown up in the area and has a wealth of knowledge to share on your visit. Nia lives close by in the village of Llangynidr. She has been managing the property for over 10 years. Theres so much to see and so its difficult to know where to start. Some places are mentioned earlier but you may also want to visit the world heritage site at Bleanavon or check out a castle or two. Crickhowell has won best British High Street with lots of independent shops and eateries. Theres also Brecon or Abergavenny close by
