Adorable, artsy townhouse ~7kms from the City
Feather & Leaf is an adorable, unique little home away from home, an aspiring urban retrofit that embraces sustainable & creative ideals designed with our guests' comfort, relaxation & fun in mind. In the Eastern foothill suburbs, our home is within close range of most of what Adelaide has to offer, a gateway to the Adelaide Hills & a quiet, pleasant stay. With two lovely, themed bedrooms & ample pleasantly decorated living spaces, you will enjoy a comfortable stay in this modest, fun townhouse Feather & Leaf is a labour of love, a space that your hosts have poured their affection and creativity into. It is a work in progress, as we have just launched, and a homely urban holiday stay that aspires to providing a unique, comfortable and pleasant experience to guests in a bright setting surrounded by art, DIY and upcycled craft, sustainable living ideals and an urban food forest/garden (in development). As we have concentrated our efforts to date on our guests' experiences inside of the house, we will continue to improve our outdoor garden, food-growing and entertainment areas as time goes by. The home is a cute and quirky maisonette with 2 bedrooms and ample dining and lounge spaces suitable for families, couples and the lone traveller needing a private and comfortable room (see other listing). It offers all the amenities you would expect of a home away from home, and is child and elderly friendly. The house has a lovely fully-equipped kitchen with a gas stove and oven, a bathroom (possibly shared if booking a single room) with bathtub and shower, a separate toilet, and a laundry. The bedrooms are lockable, and the house is fitted with electric blinds throughout. Our outdoor areas and garden, including undercover side patio and spacious backyard, are under development, and we have provided guests with café style table and chairs for your morning coffee or afternoon tea. We will continuously improve on what our home has to offer and will graciously, and gratefully, accept any and all feedback on our guest's experiences during their stay with us at Feather & Leaf. Your hosts are only a phone call away and we make ourselves as available as we can for any assistance you might need, in getting to know the neighborhood, public transport options, directions to amenities and other help as required. We live in an adjacent property and, whether booking a room or the whole house, you will have all the privacy you need while staying with us. We in turn enjoy our own privacy, but love to meet our guests and enjoy conversation and sharing if and when appropriate. On occasion and when possible, we can assist orientate our guests, providing a lift to the shops, or into the city. We enjoy the occasional hills drive, forest hike or foraging for wild foods and mushrooms. If prearranged and in particular circumstances, such as staying for a while, we may even be able to offer a lift to or from the airport, but cannot guarantee availability. Campbelltown is a quiet and pleasant eastern suburb undergoing a process of renewal. It is 7kms from the City, and is an area known as Little Italy, with old Italian houses, migrant families and large properties with market gardens, new development has seen the area grow in recent years. Our property is in a mostly residential area, but there are some amazing Italian food places, gourmet and fine food delis, shopping amenities and some lovely cafes within a short drive/ride, which we are most happy to direct you to. The property is close to major roads which can take you anywhere. It is 12-15 minute drive to the city centre with good traffic, and 20+ mins during peak hours. Travel to and from Adelaide airport takes around 30 to 40 minutes through the City outside of peak traffic, and costs between $26 and $45 on average with an Uber or Ola Ride Share. Public transport bus options are available, which will take you into Adelaide's City Centre where you will need to change buses, and the trip will take around 1 to 1.5 hours. There are bus stops 50 metres from the house which will take you into Adelaide City Centre in both directions, either through The Parade shopping district in Norwood, or to the Paradise Interchange which will then zip you into the city on the O-Bahn. After hours and weekend bus services can be connected to by a 5 to 10 minute walk, and the area is relatively well attended for Ride Share and Taxi services. There are several shopping precincts within 1km of the house, a 2 to 5 minute drive or equivalent walk/bike ride. Two bikes can be provided to guests for use during their stay, on request. There are a significant number of small Public Parks very close by, some with children's play- and gym equipment, as well as lovely larger Parks and recreation/conservation and National Park Reserves within a short drive, making for a lovely evening walk or a day outdoors. Being situated so close to the foothills of Adelaide, you can easily access the Adelaide Hills via a number of major roads like Gorge Road, Montacute Road, Norton Summit and Magill Road, as well as others a little further afield. The Adelaide Hills and Mt Lofty Ranges offer some lovely bushwalks and hiking trails, and are the gateway to some of South Australia's wine-making regions, cellar-doors, and lovely townships spread throughout the Hills. For stays longer than 1 week, please talk to us when making your booking. We are flexible, and are happy to accommodate, including the possibility of special offers after the first week. If staying for longer than 2 weeks, we may need to access the property for cleaning. And if for a whole month or more, we will need to discuss your booking, and a higher cleaning fee will apply. We are happy to try and accommodate longer stays as long as it works for both of us.
