Welcome to your home away from home. Architecturally significant, off-grid mountain home. This newly built home was created by the passion of its owner who looked for 7 years to find the perfect place in Colorado to make home. This grid independent home was crafted from superior materials. A true gem in the stunning marble valley. Designed by acclaimed Boulder architect, Ethan Hampton, this home was designed for this spot. NOTE for parents of smaller children: The master suite is a detached structure and is steps across the deck from the main living area. Just be aware, should you desire to hear your kiddos sleep. NOTE for pet owners. We are no longer allowing pets here. There has been too many messes and problems with a few pets and owners. Although we love pets, please leave them at home. FINAL NOTE - although this property does have a television and a DVD player (and loads of DVDs), it does not have not have cable or a traditional satellite connection. Please make other plans if you must watch sports. Winter Note: I have decided to open the Winter season bookings for guests enjoyment. But there are a few important items which guests must understand. 1) Four wheel drive or all wheel drive with decent tires is required 2) I do not plow the driveway (200 ft of gently sloping downhill) due to the amount of snow. This means you must park on the road and walk in. I have a toboggan sled that you can use to easily haul your gear in. Do not expect this property to have tidy snow removal services. 3) This time of year is very quite in Marble. There are no services available during this time of year. Honestly, it is my very favorite time of year here. 4) if any of the above is a problem, you need to look for other accommodations. Please, check back with me for the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. We won't be there. There is local support, but they are not standing by. Feel free to call me at any time for assistance. We love to provide support for guests The entire community in which this cabin is a part of is off-grid. We love it that way. There is an old ski area, 'Ski Marble', just up the road. The lifts even still operate a few times a year. In a pinch any of these locals will help you. They may be colorful, but they are all great people! You can drive to the cabin year round in a non-4x4 vehicle. I drive a VW beetle with snow tires and have never been denied access. If you have a 4x4 explore up the valley further to the high country. Crystal (road is brutally bumpy, but fun for some). The other option, to the left, is great and gets you up high really fast. There are great maps in the bookshelf. Lots to do in the area. Visit Redstone Inn for Brunch, go to the Redstone general store for coffee and candy.
