Landhaus Fay - Double Room 1 - Bad Ischl

Landhaus Fay offers rural tranquillity in the mountain village of Perneck, just 3kms from the lively town of Bad Ischl. There are hiking, cycling and ski touring routes from the door and just a short drive (or 25min walk) are the many restaurants, bars, shops, markets and attractions of Bad Ischl. Each of our rooms are individually decorated with emphasis on comfort, style and with an English influence! All rooms have ensuite shower/WC and free WIFI is available throughout the property. Landhaus Fay has been described by our guests as calm, rural, homely, beautifully decorated and above all, friendly. We both spent many years working stressful jobs before we moved here, so we know only too well how important your holiday is to you! We will do our very best to help you make the best of your stay and we are always on hand with help and advice, should you need it. Breakfast is provided daily and includes fresh tea, coffee, orange juice and a selection of yoghurts, fresh bread rolls, jams, cereals, toast, fruit and boiled eggs from the resident hens! In addition to each of our private, en-suite rooms, guests are welcome to use a choice of areas in which to relax. The breakfast room on the first floor is the place to find complimentary coffee and a selection of teas as well as an honesty bar, which is stocked with a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks. Why not take your drink out to the tables and chairs provided in the guest garden or relax in one of the loungers and enjoy the wonderful views of the mountains! There is also a cosy lounge area available indoors if the weather is not so good. We also have a heated ski/boot/drying room available for guests to use and a bicycle storage area available by prior arrangement. Whilst Landhaus Fay is our home too, all the guest areas are separate from the private areas and there is a dedicated entrance for guests to use so you may come and go as you please after you have checked in. We hope you will feel you have as much privacy as you like, but at the same time, know we are on hand to help you make the best of your stay and provide help and advice, should you need it. We live on site, as do our two lovely boxer dogs, but don't worry, they do not have access to guest areas as they can be a 'little boisterous' in their friendliness! ;-) Our house is located in the peaceful village of Perneck and offers the perfect blend of rural tranquillity, surrounded by meadows, forest and mountains and yet only 3kms from the lively town of Bad Ischl, the heart of the Salzkammergut region. There are many hiking, cycling and ski touring routes available right from the door step and just a short drive, or a 25 minute walk, are the many restaurants, bars, shops, markets and attractions of Bad Ischl. Nearby there are many options for climbing (Klettersteig), cross country skiing (Langlauf) and the Dachstein West, Dachstein Krippenstein, Feuerkogel and Postalm Ski Areas are all located within a 30 minute drive. We are ideally located centrally for visiting Hallstatt, St Wolfgang and Gosausee. The mountain peaks of Dachstein Krippenstein and the Five Fingers viewing platform, the Hallstatt Salzwelten (Salt Mine), Bad Ischl’s own Mt Katrin and the Zwölferhorn at St Gilgen with their nostalgic vintage cable cars and the Schafberg with it’s wonderful steam train are all located within 30 mins drive, or easily accessible by bus or train. Salzburg city is approx 55 mins drive or approx. 1.5hrs by train or bus. We are located in the rural mountain village of Perneck, 3km outside and above Bad Ischl. By Car: If you are coming by car, we will send you information and directions to our house, to make your journey here easy. We have free parking available on site for one car per room – if you have a large van or minibus, please contact us for options. Taxi: There are always taxis located at the Bad Ischl Bahnhof or the town centre (near the Kongresshaus) which can bring you and your luggage here for a cost of around €10. Just ask them to bring you to Landhaus Fay in Perneck, most drivers are familiar with our location. On Foot: You can walk to/from Bad Ischl in around 25-30 minutes - even the main road route is very pretty and passes mine entrances and a waterfall. We can highly recommend the walk into town as it is downhill, easy and very beautiful but unless you are keen walkers, the walk up the hill from town – with luggage – is a little harder! There are also various route options to walk to Bad Ischl via hiking trails, which are also very beautiful. Our house is non-smoking throughout, but you are welcome to smoke outside in the garden area or covered deck area. Ashtrays are provided. Please note that no washing of clothes or cooking is permitted in the rooms. We can provide a laundry service for a small fee, so please ask for details. We can also provide you with restaurant recommendations. Please note that the city tax of €2 per person per night is not included in the price. This can be paid at check-out.
