Pomegranate House (Granatapfelhaus) is set in tranquil gardens in a quiet residential road, footsteps from Hahndorf's famous street. Comfy beds, luxury linen, 5 beds, 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 2 portable beds, huge open-plan living and outdoor entertaining areas, wrap-around verandah, heating & cooling, log-burner for winter ambiance, gardens and stacks of outdoor parking. Great location for Hahndorf attractions, local wineries and the glorious Adelaide Hills. Everyone loves staying here..... Our place is an early 1900's stone bungalow that was originally the dairyman's cottage of a local farm. The home has been extended over the years, and renovated in 2019 to meet the expectations of 21st century visitors. The Haus is set in it's garden in an elevated position with great street appeal, and just a short stroll to the centre of this famous town. Our place consists of: - 5 large bedrooms with queen beds and Egyptian cotton linen - 3.5 bathrooms (3 showers, 1 bath, 1 en-suite powder room) - 2 top quality portable beds for locating wherever you require - Huge open-plan family room with top quality furnishings - Jarrah deck, outdoor couches, 10 seat outdoor dining, BBQ and festoon lighting - Kitchen / dining room - Zoned heating and cooling - Wood fired combustion heater for winter ambiance - Plantation shutters providing both privacy and light - Laundry - Carpeted bedrooms and family room, polished boards elsewhere - All linen, towels & bathroom ammenities provided - Gardens and plenty of off-street parking. The Haus is great for large families visiting the Hills. The bedrooms are separate from the entertaining space providing peace and quiet for those needing their own space. The elevated verandah is a great spot for sundowners. Please note: Hills gardens are usually at their best in spring and early summer, fading during summer and autumn in line with the seasons. The home consists of 5 beds, 3.5 bathrooms, huge communal area, gardens and parking. However, please be advised that booking fees are based on the total number of guests staying during the booking period (not the maximum no of guests staying on any one night). Guest substitution is not available at this property. We are unable to accept reservations for stag or hen parties. The price assumes two guests per room. So 6 guests using 3 rooms, 8 guests using 4 rooms etc. Single occupancy bookings are very welcome, but there is a surcharge to cover the additional cost of servicing as follows: - 5 guests using 5 rooms, $200 surcharge - 6, 7 or 8 guests using 5 rooms, $100 surcharge. A short stroll to Hahndorf eateries, bars, restaurants, galleries and specialty stores. Close to major wineries including The Lane (5 minutes drive, or taxi), Hahndorf Hill, Shaw & Smith etc. Hahndorf and the Adelaide Hills are particularly beautiful in spring and autumn. Please note that while the inside of the Haus is renovated and ready for your stay, the external stonework of the old house and the overgrown gardens require TLC and will be work in progress for some time. This will in no way spoil your amenity and enjoyment of this great property in this famous town in the glorious Adelaide Hills. There is a minimum stay of 3 nights due to the economics of servicing such a large property. For specific requirements please contact the host. Children are welcome, but require supervision. The Haus contains high end furnishings and fabric. It is a condition of booking that children are supervised, any damage must be reported, and repair or replacement costs may be incurred. The historic German town includes the Cedars home of Sir Hans Heysen and the Hahndorf Academy. This famous town has several hotels and boutique distilleries, many cafes and restaurants, gourmet food outlets and a wide range of boutique shops for those seeking retail therapy. Nearby wineries include The Lane, Hahndorf Hill, Shaw & Smith, Nepenthe and Somerled. Nearby townships include Stirling, Aldgate, Crafers, Mt Barker and Strathalbyn. Adelaide City is 30 minutes by car or public transport, and the Barossa and McLaren Vale wine regions are less than an hours drive. Stroll to the main street of Hahndorf (6 minutes walk). Hahndorf is 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD via the South Eastern freeway, approximately 40 minutes from Adelaide international airport. Regular bus services connect Hahndorf to the Adelaide CBD. Local Hills taxis are available to take you to your winery lunch destinations.
