Pretty Double Room with private ensuite, room only

Welcome to Longbarn House, ideally situated in the heart of Hardy country, close to the Jurassic Coast and just 2 miles from Dorchester. Longbarn House was originally built around 1850’s as a milking barn and has now been converted into a family home. This is a room only listing, with no access to the main house. A private cosy room with your own en suite bathroom, a private door to the village and a short walk to our fabulous local pub The Wiseman Inn. On street parking in the village Your room is nestled in the eaves of our converted barn, in a separate private annex to the main house. If your requirements include a large amount of space in your room then our small double en suite may not suit. Please bear this in mind. This room is quite and cosy for a relaxing break or for a restful stop over. We provide fresh 100% cotton White Company bedding, freshly laundered and line dried (I don't iron, life too short for that) and fluffy John Lewis white towels. We are one of very few establishments doing one night stay bookings in our area. Because of this we only offer refreshments in the room for those booked in for more than one night. Due to covid and the amount of extra cleaning time needed on heavy use items like kettles, hairdryers etc we have made the decision to pull these items from our rooms for a single night stay. Refreshments are herbal tea only. Please bear this in mind. There is no parking at the barn but there are plenty of spots in the village. We recommend you park in the disused bus stop over the road from your door or the front of the pub where there is ample free parking and walk the 40 yards back to the annex. Your key will be located in a key safe by the door. Once you are booked in we will send you a code. Please remember to keep this external door locked at all times, even when you are in your room. Please also return the key to the box when you leave. Any keys taken or lost will incur a £10 replacement fee. We want to be covid safe so there will be no interaction with guests. You will be the only guests as we have shut down our twin room. If you get stuck just call me on my mobile and I can help you out West Stafford is a sleepy village that has many pretty thatched cottages and buildings of interest. Nestled in the heart of Hardy country. Did you know the barn you are sleeping in is believed to be where Thomas Hardy set the scene where Tess fell in love with Angel Clare in his famous book ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’ We also have one of the best pubs in Dorest The Wiseman Inn - go check it out, but you’ll need to book, it gets booked up pretty quickly in the summer months. You will need a car I’m afraid. We have no public transport in the village and taxis are not cheap. You will be the only guests staying. We have a twin room below your room which we have decided to keep closed to safeguard against covid. We would appreciate it if you would please leave outside shoes in the tiled entrance hall. If you eat food or snacks in the room please take your food rubbish with you. We allow only one well behaved dog to stay but please DO NOT allow them on the bed. They must sleep on the floor or in the bed you provide. Please notify us if you intend to bring a dog with you. Please help our carbon footprint and only use the towels you need and placed used towel in the bath when you check out. Please don't use the towels to remove makeup or for anything else other than drying yourself from a bath or shower. All doors marked private are private. Especially the linen cupboard. Please do not help yourself.
