Beautiful and spacious house located half way between Porto city centre and Gaia's beautiful beaches. Ideal for a large family or for two, three (or even four!) couples travelling together. If you like being very close to the city centre but want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, then this is the house for you. The municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia has just released a new tax (Taxa de Cidade de Vila Nova de Gaia). Please read about it in 'The Space' below. The municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia has just released a new tax (city tax), which charges €1 per person/per night between 1 October and 31 March, and €2 per person/per night between 1 April and 30 September. It is applicable to guests with an age equal or above 16, and for a maximum of 7 nights. You can consult the official document here: (Website hidden by Airbnb) This house is unique as it brings you extremely close to the city but allows you the feeling of being in the countryside. It is situated halfway between the city of Porto and Gaia's stunning beaches. It is also near all major shopping malls, supermarkets, and local shops. This pristine house comprises an open plan living room and hallway, spacious kitchen, four large double bedrooms (one on-suite), an additional double room in the attic and three bathrooms; it also offers a large outdoor living space with a large newly built barbecue. It also offers safe and free parking. The comfortable uncluttered living room is fitted with a real wood fireplace (not needed in the summer, but very cosy in other times of the year). Wood is provided. All rooms are beautifully decorated with good quality furniture. The kitchen is a great space! It is fully equipped with all modern appliances. With a walk-in pantry and very large fridge and freezer, you will be able to store food for a full house and enjoy eating inside or spilling out into the terrace, overlooking a marvellous Portuguese Eucalyptus wood. The newly built barbecue area, with a large pizza oven, is a spacious, private and welcoming outdoor living space, and it can be used all year round. Enjoy barbecuing fresh fish from a local market, eating a freshly baked pizza or even a traditional Sunday roast! Wood will be provided. This lovely house is ideal for a large family, or for two, three, and even four couples travelling together. You will have access to the entire house, apart from the garage (not shown in the photos). But with so many spacious living areas open to you throughout the property, indoors and outdoors, you won´t be missing out :) You will have the entire house just for yourself. During your stay, I will be happy to recommend good local restaurants and other places of interest in Porto and nearby cities. My neighbourhood is extremely quiet and peaceful, which is ideal if you want to be very close to the city but also enjoy the feeling of being in the countryside. In fact, some of the rooms, the kitchen and the outdoor living space overlook a beautiful wooded area. So, not much more than a bird can be heard at this location. All the neighbours are very quiet and friendly, and this large and solid semidetached house will allow you to enjoy some privacy. The quicker way to get to Porto is by metro. Santo Ovídeo Metro station (the final Yellow Line station) is a mere 15 min. walk away. By metro you will reach the Porto city centre in approx. 12 minutes, while enjoying the breathtaking views over the River Douro, the Port Wine Lodges and beautiful Ribeira area. Alternatively, at a minute’s walk from the house, you can take Bus 903, which goes all the way to Boavista, one of Porto's nicest areas. This bus also stops at the Santo Ovídeo Metro station (in case you don't feel like walking to the metro). The closest stop to the house is in Rua General Humberto Delgado. Even though there are good public transport connections, you will make the most of this location if you rent a car during your stay in Porto, as many visitors usually do. The house offers free safe parking for up to 3 cars, and it is situated at a 15 minutes’ drive from either the city of Porto or Gaia's beautiful beaches, and at a 5 minutes’ drive from the shopping mall (Gaia Shopping) and supermarkets (Continente). In addition, you will be able to drive further afield, to other beautiful cities such as Coimbra, Braga, Viana do Castelo, or even to the north of Spain. This house is located near the main road and motorway links, and so you can easily use my house as a base. I have a beautiful lemon tree, and you are welcome to use lemons for seasoning fish and salads or for making refreshing drinks! Plenty of wood will also be provided for the pizza oven and the fireplace.
