Situated near the picturesque village of Scotlandwell in Kinross-shire, Wild Goose Glamping offers visitors the chance to stay in one of two cosy, well equipped glamping pods on a family run small farm. Wild Goose Glamping is the perfect place to unwind and connect to nature. Its location makes it an ideal place for walkers, cyclists, wildlife watchers and lovers of Scottish History. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Our pods are ideal for a couple but can accommodate 3. Beds consist of a double and a sofa bed, and each pod has its own shower room with wash hand basin and toilet. Both pods have Wi-Fi. Towels and bedding for both beds are supplied, and there is an extra mattress for the sofa bed if needed. Everything necessary for cooking and eating in the pod is supplied, along with a welcome basket containing tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. A large, enclosed decking at the front, complete with table and chairs, provides privacy and a place to enjoy the stunning views. Each pod has its own charcoal barbecue, complete with enough charcoal for your first BBQ. A large grassed area in front of each pod has a picnic table and enough space for ball games. Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling and Perth are all within easy reach, giving opportunities for shopping, golfing, beach walks and enjoying Scottish food and drink. Guests can park their car directly behind their pod, giving easy access to the door. There is a turning area for reversing when leaving. Guests can use the grassed area in front of the pods for sitting outside. Hosts Liz and David live in the nearby house and enjoy meeting new guests. They are contactable by phone or text during the day and evening. A few of the many places to visit: Loch Leven Heritage Trail, a circular 13 mile traffic free path round Loch Leven providing a unique day out for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers. There are several good places to eat along this route, or take a packed lunch and sit at one of the many benches enjoying the scenery. Vane Farm Nature Reserve offers a great day out for nature lovers and wildlife watchers, and has a visitor centre with a restaurant, and nature trails Loch Leven Castle, a ruined castle on an island on Loch Leven built around 1300, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567. Daily boat trips are available. Falkland Palace was the country residence the Royal Stuarts, was adored by Mary Queen of Scots and is one of the finest examples of renaissance architecture in Scotland. There are numerous places to eat nearby. The Well Country Inn is 1 mile away and is a friendly country pub, great for a pub lunch or evening meal, with a menu to suit all tastes. Lochend Farm Shop is 1.5 miles away and is great for a coffee and home baking or a light lunch. Fresh farm produce is for sale, as well as gifts, locally produced meat and organic foods. Loch Leven's Larder is 4 miles away, has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, delicatessen and gift shop.
