There is kilometres of coastline to explore if you have your own boat or kayak, with great fishing. Access by car is 2.5 hrs from Picton or Blenhiem and 3 hrs from Nelson, however travel time can be considerable reduced by coming by water taxi from Picton OR driving to TeMahia Bay Wharf on the Kenepuru Rd and catching a water taxi across the bay. You can also drive to Havelock on the Queencharlotte Drive from Picton or Blenhiem and catch the Mailboat out to the Kenepuru Sound which is about 30mins. For an adventurous arrival, you can catch the Floatplane from Picton which lands not far from where the house is situated. There are no shops or fuel stations in the Kenepuru Sound so your food & Fuel purchases will have to be made in Picton or Blenhiem before you come out.
