Fresh air and space in the countryside - B&B

Looking for peace, tranquility and fresh air? This is the place for you! This a family suite consisting of two bedrooms across the hall from each other. The family bathroom is at one end of this small hallway and is for your exclusive use. One room has a double bed and a single bed; the other room has two single beds. Please let us know which beds you would like to use when you book so that they are ready for you. Breakfast is included in the rate, as is the taxe de séjour. Our B&B is in a farmhouse built about 150 years ago, so there are plenty of original features, including exposed stone walls, beams and fireplaces. There is a garden with a table for use for picnics on hot days. Parking is free and is onsite. The Creuse department shares first spot for the cleanest air in France. There are no heavy industries and the population density is low. In fact, there are more cows than people here! This area is famous for the LImousin breed of cattle, well-known for its tasty meat. We are conveniently located in the middle of France, near the junction of the A20 and N145 motorways, handy for a stop on your way down to the south of France, or if you want a few days of tranquility in typical French countryside. We live on site and available to help you throughout your stay. We live in a small hamlet in the middle of the Creuse countryside, one of the least inhabited departments in France. There are plenty of walks and cycle rides in the area. The hills are gentle so cycling isn't too arduous. We would be pleased to provide you with maps. Creuse is known as the Lake District of France, as there are numerous lakes in the area. Most of the larger lakes have beaches and a children's playground, perfect for a picnic on a hot summer's day. There are two fairly large towns nearby, La Souterraine and Bessines sur Gartempe. where there are restaurants, bakeries, take-away places, cafes and supermarkets. Both are around 10 to 15 minute drive from us. The small town of Fursac, 2 kilometers to the south, has a small supermarket, a bakery, a butcher's, 2 bars a high end restaurant and an Italian restaurant. The 2 restaurants are only open in the summer months.
