Mountain studio with garden and pool

Come stay at our modern studio guesthouse (on the left). Hike the surrounding trails, relax at the lakeside park, take a short walk to the Baekje Military Museum or enjoy our large yard/deck. Near Daejeon/Yeonmudae/Gyeryong. We have recently built an in-ground, salt water lap pool (summer 2020). It is available for use May-September. Modern design in the Korean countryside. The guesthouse is located in a separate building from the owner’s house. The two buildings are connected by an outdoor lobby. Please check ALL of the photos to make sure the space suits your requirements. Guests are welcome to use our large yard and furnished back deck. There’s an outdoor lobby between the guesthouse and the owner’s home. You are welcome to dine, drink coffee or relax there. We are a Canadian-Korean couple who enjoy giving our Korean guests a unique western vibe while making our foreign guests comfortable in a fascinating part of the world. We are located on a small mountain overlooking Tapjeong Lake. For a rural location, there's quite a lot to do. Marked hiking trails pass by 200 meters up the road. The General Gyebaek Park/Baekje Military Museum is a 10 min walk down the trail. It is set in a beautiful location. At the foot of our mountain is the Tapjeong Saengtae Park - an ecologically protected space popular with families out for a picnic. Across Tapjeong Lake, there are restaurants and coffee shops. Beautiful Gyeryong Mountain and popular Daedun Mountain are within 20 minutes drive. And Daejeon city is only 30 minutes by car for those wanting to shop or dine in town. While we are more than happy to pick up/drop off guests at nearby Gyeryong train station, we highly recommend driving here by car. Although several local attractions are accessible by foot, our location is fairly remote. The nearest supermarket, for example, is an hour walk one way. Due to the floor to ceiling windows, ornate decorations, two large dogs and 1.4 meter deep swimming pool (at the shallowest end) our guesthouse is not suitable for children.
