The House@33 - A beautiful place to be
Oaks Estate is a beautiful semi-rural suburb on the outskirts of Canberra and Queanbeyan. It is a wonderful place to be with many birds and frogs. Close to shops and pubs and an easy drive to Canberra. The House@33 is a lovely, light-filled, 1960's Canberra double brick, fully equipped family home. It has a modern feel as well as many retro features including the original bathroom. The House@33 is a sustainable urban housing experiment, thank you for your interest. The house is a beautiful, light-filled, airy, spacious, 1960's Canberra double brick style. It is a fully equipped family home with a huge back yard with lots of large trees. The house works well and is very comfortable. It has a modern feel as well as many retro features including the original bathroom with its lovely big bath. Although there is only one bathroom there are two toilets. Remember it is an older house so not everything is perfect. Please relax and use the whole house and garden. For longer stays, I may return to the home and access rooms under the house and do some gardening as it is a big yard and needs lots of work. Call me and we can decide together. Oaks Estate is a beautiful semi-rural suburb on the outskirts of Canberra and Queanbeyan. It is a wonderful place to live. We are on the edge of the Molonglo and Queanbeyan rivers, close to shops and pubs and an easy drive to Canberra. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe and very friendly and the street is lovely with a small park, large gum trees and a great walk around the river. Julian runs what I consider the worlds quirkiest coffee shop in our small suburb. He makes great coffee and does a delicious bacon and egg roll with a coffee for $10. Take a mug and plate from The House (bring them back though) and save on single-use cups and packaging. Opening hours are 6:30am - 12pm Monday to Saturday. The House@33 is a co-operative housing experiment which offers guests a unique opportunity to contribute to and participate in a sustainable urban housing project. The House@33 aims to use the profits generated by sharing the space for investing in sustainable improvements to the home. In the first year of this project, the profits were spent on solar. This year we plan to invest in reverse cycle air conditioning and commence an urban permaculture garden design.
