Hill house at Balaton

The guesthouse is located on one of the most beautiful extinct volcanoes of the Balaton-uplands, on the south-east slope of St. George hill, over the village Kisapáti. Apart form the locally produced wine visitors can taste the peace and quiet that is radiated by the area. This guesthouse offers comfortable stay to a family or a smaller group of friends with astonishing view over the lake Balaton, the Badacsony and several other hills and basins of the region. The house has a good size living room, one double and one twin bedrooms, an ’L’ shaped kitchen/dining room, a bathroom incl. toilet, a terrace and a huge garden with a covered grill terrace. Apart from relaxing the area offers various possibilities of activities for all kinds of weather. In hot weather lake Balaton offers cooling down opprtunities as well as pleasant boat trips, but even on colder days within half hour drive Héviz, one of the most famous thermal baths in Hungary can be reached. Numerous hiking opportunities exist from one of the extinct volcanoes to the other, passing atmospheric wine cellars, geological formations, castle ruins and stunning views in every direction. The nearest small town, Tapolca is only 5 kms away, where anything from shops to restaurants and a cinema as well as a small lake over, and another under ground can offer a pleasant stay. Since the house is located on a wine hill ’off the beaten track’ on the last ca. 300 metres the quality of the road is pretty bad and steep -the 'price' for the breath taking view and the peace and quiet of the vineyard. Behind the guest house is a fenced off, separate small building for the owner and her two dogs. There is a thatched roofed open terrace a little distance away from the house with a grill nearby. Although the grill is not under the roof, it is very important that fire needs to be completely extinguished before guests leave the terrace!
