We are located on the edge of the Lake District National Park, within easy driving distance of both the historic towns of Cockermouth and Keswick, and also the stunning Solway Coast. In addition to our five fully serviced caravan pitches, we have a popular camping pod here in our pretty gardens and caravan site on the edge of the Lake District, Cumbria. Add a touch of glamping to your break away. Enjoy your holiday or short break in our camping pod, which has so many advantages over traditional camping, and is ready for you to move in to! No fighting with canvas, and plenty of mod cons to enhance your time away. All you need to bring is towels and bedding! The camping pod includes: •Sleeping room for up to four people (two adults & two children) •A well equipped kitchenette with fridge, 2 ring electric hob and microwave •Smart TV with internet access •Its own camping toilet •Access to shower and main toilet in general facilities •Outside seating •Access to barbecue (subject to availability) Owners live on site and are available most of the time for information or advice. Just a couple of miles from Greysouthen, you will find the historic town of Cockermouth. It is famed for its large number of small independent shops selling antiques, books, speciality foods and more. It has a fantastic selection of restaurants & coffee shops, and is also home to Jennings Brewery, the Kirkgate Arts Centre and the Taste Cumbria Food Festival. A little further on the A66 (about 20 minutes' drive) you'll find the adventure Capital – Keswick. There are too many treasures to mention around the Lake District, but you are in close proximity to many of the finest lakes such as Bassenthwaite, Crummock, Loweswater, Buttermere and Derwentwater. Mountain biking is available in Whinlatter Forest (England's only true mountain forest!), as well as Go Ape. Whether you are in to walking, biking, fishing, riding, or just wandering around the area, you will find plenty to do! A limited bus service does run through the village but a car is recommended to access the local town. Taxi cost is about £10-15.
