Relax in front of a real log fire in one of our cosy comfortable cottages in the beautiful Somerset Countryside. Within easy reach of Bath, Bristol, Wells and many beautiful Medieval Market Towns that you can explore at your leisure. Unwind in our onsite Hot Tub and Sauna. Eat in one of the superb local restaurants or Gastro-pubs. Explore the Area - Greyfield Wood is at the bottom of the hill, discover the Waterfall, Bluebells, Golden Saxifrage, Deer, Badgers, Foxes, Rabbits and lots more. Our lovely Old Farm (no longer working although we do keep some goats, ducks, geese & chickens) in Somerset offers you a tranquil rural location with 5 spacious stone and block built cottages around the old farmyard. We offer our guests free Wi-Fi, and our shared facilities include a Finnish Sauna, a Hot Tub to luxuriate in, a Mini-Gym to help you keep trim, a BBQ area & Petanque/Boule Court so you can while away those warm light evenings, We also have a BBQ Hut and an Information Hut with some games, books & DVD's for those cold dark evenings (BBQ party in January anyone?). Each cottage is a little different but they are all self-contained, well appointed and furnished to a high standard, so you have everything you need for that home away from home experience. With double glazing, log burning fires and full oil fired central heating all the cottages are warm and comfortable all year round. Your cottage also has its own garden/patio area for having breakfast or enjoying that relaxing late afternoon drink. You have full access to your cottage and its garden during your stay, we do have rights of access for maintenance purposes. You have shared access to the Sauna, Hot Tub, Mini-Gym, Information Hut, Log Shed and BBQ Area (we can supply keys to the BBQ Hut if you wish to use it). We ask you to respect the privacy of the neighbouring cottages and please do not go into the paddock or enter our private gardens. Your cottage is your home away from home. We like to introduce ourselves and show you around after you arrive, we will say hello and ask you if everything is OK when we see you the next day, but we believe in giving our guests privacy and room to relax. We live on-site, in the two-story bit with the photovoltaic cells on the roof, so if you need anything or we can help just ring the doorbell. Alternatively (or After 6 pm) - Ring the contact phone numbers from the welcome guide which you will find in your cottage. Fed up with every high street being the same? then explore some of our local medieval and picturesque market towns (Frome, Glastonbury, Bradford-upon-Avon) which have many small and independent shops, fairs & markets - uncover these hidden treasures, locate that bargain and try some of the wonderful fresh & local produce. Explore the historic local cities on our doorstep Georgian Bath (9 miles) - visit the Royal Crescent, Costume Museum, Pump Rooms, Roman Baths and experience the thermal waters at the world-renowned Thermae Spa in Bath. Mercantile Bristol (10 miles) - The Harbourside has the SS Great Britain & the Matthew, St Nicolas Market area has lots of cool lunch venues and Clifton Village is always a fun place to go. Ecclesiastical Wells (11 miles) - With its Cathedral and Bishops Palace is the smallest city in England. After visiting Wells 6 miles down the road you have its great historical rival Glastonbury (Arthurian Avalon. see the ruins of the great abbey and the tor), There are many local castles & historic houses that you can visit (Nunny, Farley Hungerford, Dyrham Park, Longleat, Tynsfield, Stourhead & Montacute House). We have Neolithic Sites with our local stone circle at Stanton Drew, the caves in the Cheddar Gorge and a little further away you have West Kennet Long Barrow, Silbury Hill, Avebury & Stonehenge. If its time out with the family you have Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge & Longleat or a trip to the seaside at Weston-Super-Mare, Clevedon, Brean Down & Burnham-on-Sea. Because of our rural location, most people will arrive by car and use one to explore the local area. However, some people do come by public transport, using a taxi or bus to get here and we have even had an adventurous family cycle here from the Netherlands Whilst Keynsham is our closest railway station we would recommend either Bath Spa or Bristol Temple Meads because of the Bus Services and it is easier to catch a taxi from them. There are buses from the village (05 miles) to Bath (179) and Bristol (178). Parking On-site - Whilst there are no marked out parking places on-site, there is ample space for 2 cars close to each cottage (including Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles). Pets are only accepted through agreement at the time of booking. We accept well-behaved pets by prior arrangement in all this cottage. If you wish to bring your pet please let us know beforehand, ensure that they are well behaved and clean up after them (we have a number of cat & dog hair attachments for the vacuum cleaners which are available on request). Do not leave animals alone in the cottage to pine/bark/destroy the fixtures and fittings (Note: You are liable for any damage done by your pets). Please keep your pet close to you when out of the cottage (dogs should always be on leads), also make sure they are wearing an identity disc in case they stray and get lost. The max/normal occupancy for each cottage is 4 persons (plus 1-2 infants) let us know if you wish to vary it, we reserve the right to restrict occupancy to the maximum listed. We don't normally provide breakfasts but if you let us know in advance we can provide you with a breakfast box or get you some provisions (for an additional cost) or you can book a grocery delivery via one of the online delivery services (Waitrose, Ocado, Tesco etc...).
