A self-described magical and idyllic place. This organically run character country house awaits those looking for seclusion, privacy and romance. 'DEER HOUSE' nestled in it's own valley has it all, making it the perfect getaway for both family/romantic for couples/artists/writiers/or singles, you will find something for everyone. Decorated with taste, fully equipped kitchen, centrally heated, fireplaces, exposed, beams, private garden & terrace, BBQ, flat screen TV DVD, games, wifi and free parking. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, gas cooker, large fridge/freezer and microwave. The main kitchen with large workstation, table and chairs, french doors leading out onto the private terrace with teak table and chairs and garden bench, shaded BBQ seating area under the oaks. The kitchen provides a working chimney for those on vacation during both the autumn and winter months. The Morning room leads off the main kitchen, a lovely cozy room to take your morning coffee or sit peacefully reading a book. The Morning room holds a great library of both books and DVD's - flat-screen TV with both English & French channels; Enjoy the sunshine, bird song and views of the gardens beyond whilst taking your morning coffee. Sit and relax in the Drawing room offering peace, sunshine and views of the gardens - comfortable sofa and easy chairs rest by the stone fireplace. An interesting selection of pictures adorn the walls - for those wishing for romance, light the candles and relax. Double bedroom. Wake to bird song in this pretty but simple room. Wooden painted floors, antique pictures of country scenes and a large cozy bed awaits. En suite bathroom with large walk in shower. Views from both bedrooms overlook the gardens. Twin room. This room is the only room upstairs where you will find a large twin room with french beds, furnished simply but fresh and bright. The third bedroom is a secret bedroom situated underneath the morning room. Simply furnished with french lit bateau style bed. Beautiful early 17th century stone flooring - window overlooking the gardens. A quiet, relaxing and peaceful room. Second bathroom with large walk-in shower services the twin room and the secret bedroom. All linens are provided including towels. Separate laundry room with stainless steel laundry sink, washing machine, ironing board and iron. Area under the staircase for suitcases. Travel crib is provided for those with little ones. Pets are welcome too - dog dishes, dog towels are also provided. Guests have their own terrace and garden with BBQ area. A special seating area of tranquility under the oaks where over a 100 crystals lay buried - very special for those wishing to meditate or just a quiet moment in thought - Meditation cushions are provided. I am more than happy to shop at our local market buying fabulous seasonal vegetables and fruits for those wishing to have their shopping waiting in the house upon arrival, free of charges. Games - croquet, badminton, & french boules, football. Board games are also available in the Morning room. Free car parking at the front of the property upon entering. Many walks straight from your door in the hope of sighting deer or even wild boar in the right season. Corpu live in our fields, watch them eat and play. For bird enthusiasts, we have our own residential woodpeckers and a great variety of European species including our own residential pheasant! Our woodlands abound with Flora and Fauna and in the seasons, collect walnuts, truffles, fungi, i.e. champigion, herbs and much more, all just a step away............ When in residence, I like to greet my guests and invite them to drinks on the terrace in summer or inside during cooler climes. During the summer months and my organic vegetables/herbs are plenty, I offer my guests to buy at low cost saving them both time and money. Before arrival I offer to buy provisions allowing guests to relax upon arrival. Bookings for local restaurants upon request and information as to where to visit places of interest in the local area and beyond. You will find ample information in the property on the local areas and places of interest. I am always available for my guests to offer help ensuring their stay is a more memorable one, offering places of interest, restaurant bookings, shopping if necessary and more. If there is an emergency during your stay, I will ensure to do my utmost to help in any given situation. Long term rentals are available over both summer and winter periods at special rates. For those guests booking longer periods, a month or more, will be responsible for their own cleaning of the property unless requested, if so, there will be the normal cleaning fee of Euro 60. I am more than happy to buy food to place in the property (free of charge) ready for your arrival. For those preferring organic, seasonal vegetables, eggs and wines can also be ordered, however, I do need notice allowing time to ensure that your goods are in your property ready for your arrival, this is a free service. There is no public transport but local taxi services are available . It is essential to have a car allowing you to discover both local area and beyond. Bicycle hire would need to be booked in advance during the high season. Taxi services can be ordered for those arriving at Angouleme or Bergerac; for arrivals at Bordeaux, it is essential to hire a car but during high season it is important to book well in advance. Long term rentals are available over both summer and winter periods at special rates. For those guests booking longer periods, a month or more, will be responsible for their own cleaning of the property unless requested, if so, there will be the normal cleaning fee of Euro 60 at the end of their stay. *Please note that wood provided for the wood burning stoves normally during the winter months, will be charged for. I do ask during the months of when the heating is switched on, guests should keep radiators on low whilst out for the day. The outside light when out in the evening must be switched off when returning to the property. I am more than happy to buy food to place in the property ready for your arrival. For those preferring organic, seasonal vegetables, eggs and wines can also be ordered, however, I do need notice allowing enough time. We do provide a compost bin and would appreciate that all vegetable peelings, paper, cardboard, eggshells are disposed of - all meat/fish/bones, must NOT be in the compost bin - we will show you where to empty your compost. You will be shown where to park your vehicle upon arrival - I would appreciate that you park in the same place during your stay. Dogs left unattended in the property - This is not an issue providing your dog does not bark whilst you are away. No dogs allowed on chairs/beds or sofas! Please ensure you collect your dog mess straight away and dispose in the correct manner. Children under age should not be left alone under any circumstances - if requesting a baby sitter, then please ask. All breakages and damages must be noted and paid for upon vacating the property - a list of charges will be shown. The property will be checked upon vacating. Please ensure during wet weather, all boots/shoes are removed before entering the property - the rear entrance is encouraged where a basket is left specifically. Please do not place feet with footwear on sofas/beds/chairs. Parties are not allowed on the property. NO SMOKING ALLOWED - this rule also applies to the outside areas. All rules are made for you and others that follow - we would appreciate your cooperation.
