Escape to the sea cottage.
2 The Terrace is a charming sea front cottage, literally a stone's throw from the sea and in between two beaches, the closest being under a 1 minute walk away. The cottage has a serene atmosphere, with grand sea views and open plan living area. The living area accommodates generous seating, including sun room, lounge and dining area with cosy corner next to log burner. The communal areas are well stocked with books, dvds and games. At the rear, there is a covered and secure area, suitable for drying washing, cleaning wetsuits and general beach gear. Washing facilities are located in the downstairs bathroom. The upstairs bathroom includes a generously sized wet-room with skylight. Bedroom 2 at the rear, hosts twin beds, black out blinds on the skylights and storage space for clothes. Bedroom 1 is spacious , with distant views of the Eddystone lighthouse. It includes a king size bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe space and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped, with plenty of utensils and crockery for the chefs among you! There is a large, slate patio at the front of the the cottage above the garden, which includes wooden exterior furniture, BBQ and large parasol. The garden is charming, with structural planting around the path to the cottage. The owners will be available via telephone and email for any queries or emergencies. Visits can be made if required. Portwrinkle has a far away charm, more like a meditarranean fishing village and is a popular haunt for locals visiting the beach. The proximity to the sea surrenders it to the elements and the cottage weathers it all. The beach is an ideal family spot, with rock pooling, shallow sandy waters at low tide and an old fishing harbour now more commonly used for kayaking and swimming from. There is a cafe at the other end of the village. The village of Crafthole is a short walk uphill and has a community shop and pub. The walks east and west are stunning, with lots to explore. East are the sandy beaches of Whitsand Bay and West there are coves and footpaths leading to villages of Downderry, Seaton and Looe. Parking permits can be purchase for £1 p/day, depending on availability. Permit parking area is directly outside cottage in zone PT Z1. Permits are not required November to April. Otherwise there is paid parking along the seafront. If use of the sofa bed is required, i.e. more than 4 persons; please ask the owners about extra bedding.
