Private retreat in picturesque Mount Hunter

A quiet country haven just 5 minutes from Camden and less than an hour from the city and the gorgeous Southern Highlands, 'Pepperfield' is the ideal place for a relaxing getaway, weekend sojourn or overnight stay after a local wedding or function. Stroll through the beautiful gardens, enjoy a drink in the gazebo over the pond, play a game of giant chess or checkers in the chess court and then cool off in the pool or relax in the outdoor spa. At Pepperfield, you can escape and unwind. The guest studio is separate from the main house with its own access and off-street parking. It is comfortably appointed with a king size bed with crisp white linen, drawers and cupboard space, lounge, Smart TV, reverse cycle air conditioner, free WiFi and fluffy bathrobes. The bathroom includes amenities, shower cap and hairdryer. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. A Nespresso coffee machine with a selection of pods ensures a perfect wake up! There is an electric frypan (to fry up some eggs for breakfast in the morning!), a toasted sandwich maker, and even a BBQ on your verandah for your exclusive use should you choose to dine in one evening. Breakfast provisions include cereals, sliced bread, spreads, fruit, yoghurt and fresh eggs. Your space will be fully cleaned and sanitised prior to your visit. Hand sanitiser is available for your use during your stay. The spa is located outside next to the pool. After dinner, why not relax and enjoy a spa under the stars! Please note that the spa is not heated during the winter months. We can instead set up an outdoor fire pit for your enjoyment. Guests of Pepperfield have full access to all areas of our property, with the exception of the house and sheds. You are free to wander through the gardens and use the gazebos, pool and outdoor spa. Please note however that we are a working garden venue and our gardens are periodically used for photo shoots and events which may run for 2-3 hours. During this time, access will be limited to the house gardens, pool and spa. The laundry is external to the house and you are welcome to use the washing machine and dryer whenever you need. We will aim to meet you on arrival, otherwise your key will be left in a secure place. We can offer you a guided tour of the gardens to orient you around the property. A facilitated walk through our ceremonial labyrinth, ‘ The Labyrinth of Tyme’, is available on request. We really enjoy meeting and hosting people, so we are happy for as much or as little as interaction as you prefer. We are located in the Wollondilly, a beautiful heritage farming district, which offers a unique range of attractions and activities. If you like bush walking, there are many scenic tracks to explore such as Mermaids Pool, Thirlmere Lakes and Burragorang Lookout. For the more adventurous, there's horse riding, hot air ballooning and even sky diving! The Visit Wollondilly website has a comprehensive collection of attractions, experiences and events. The historic town of Camden is only 5 minutes' drive away and has great cafes and pubs, as well as Coles, Woolworths and all amenities. If you like to shop, Narellan Town Centre and Macarthur Square are only 15-20 minutes away. They are large centres with all well-known brands and extensive choice of eateries. Less than an hour away is the beautiful Southern Highlands where you will find antiques, gardens, wineries, boutique shopping and fine dining. We are also only 5 minutes away from K Ranch, the premier equine venue for western style events such as roping, reining and camp-drafting. On your coffee table will be the latest seasonal edition of the In Macarthur magazine which has a comprehensive list of all the local restaurants as well as a What's On section with local markets, activities and events. Check-in between 3pm and 8pm. Check-out by 11am. An earlier check-in or later check-out may be available on request. We are a Covid-19 Safe property and, in keeping with the current health orders, we require all guests to be fully vaccinated, as we are, and check in and out using our QR code.
