Colville Bach with a View
"Wai Wurri" is a classic old-style Kiwi bach. Located in Colville - a picturesque 25 minute drive north of Coromandel town. The bach itself is down a quiet country road, within a 6 Ha property, surrounded by farmland, looking across the tidal Colville Bay. Self-contained with full kitchen and bathroom facilities. 2 double bedrooms - queen beds. Gas BBQ. 2 Kayaks available for use - ideal for a paddle on a calm day. We live in a different house on the same property, so will be available if required. With the last store and petrol pumps, on the northern end of the peninsula, the village of Colville is usually the last comfort stop for your trip onwards to the end of the Coromandel Peninsula. This area is still very much a rural farming community, but with it’s green native bush and beautiful coastline, fringed with native Pohutukawa trees, this northern end of the Peninsula is fast becoming a year round holiday destination for both Kiwis and international visitors. A good base for long walks and "Tiki Tours" (day car trips). Approx 45 minutes to Stony Bay - popular starting point for the Coromandel Coastal Walkway. (You can arrange pick-up from the bach with local based 'Hike&Bike Coromandel'. ) Walking distance to the local store and café. 3 minutes walk to the closest beach. 30 minutes drive (mostly metal roads) will get you to any number of beaches and picturesque spots toward Cape Colville, Moehau, Port Charles, Waikawau.
