Langport is a small market town (reputedly the smallest in England) surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Somerset Levels. Its main street, built on an ancient Roman causeway, is lined with small independent shops and cafés. The River Parrett meanders gently around the edge of the town providing miles of scenic riverside for walking, cycling and fishing. Langport has a wide choice of restaurants - The Langport Arms, dating back to the Civil War, with an excellent carvery and bar snacks; The Black Swan, a traditional grade 2 listed pub with great food and live music events; Thai Mango for delicious authentic Thai food and Cardamom, an extremely good curry house.
