CLIFFORD BEDROOM AT APPLEBY CASTLE
The luxurious Clifford room features drapes in the medieval style and is dominated by a 17th century four poster bed. The bathroom has underfloor heating, a walk in shower and a roll top bath. Step back in time with soft antique chairs with tea and coffee making facilities. This is a unique experience for the discerning guest to experience living history. Enjoy a sumptuous meal in the 15th century dining room or stroll into town which is less than five minutes walk away. The Clifford bedroom is situated along the hallway of the third floor and is the bedroom of choice for newly weds. Decorated in the medieval style with wall hangings covering all walls the room is dominated by a large seventeenth century king size bed. The window view overlooks Inner Bailey and antiques surround the room. Two steps across the hallway is a large bathroom with a roll top bath and separate shower. Common areas include the bar, great hall, old chapel of lounge, dining room, games room old great hall and inner bailey. Our reception is manned from 8am until 10.30am and from 3pm until 10.00pm. There is always someone at the property in case of emergency or urgent assistance. Appleby Castle sits on the hill overlooking the ancient county town of Westmorland. Set at the foot of the Pennines nestled next to the meandering River there are 25 acres of parkland with many animals and nativer red squirrels in the grounds. Appleby Castle cherishes one of the few remaining intact Norman Keeps in the UK. It is a museum detailing the early Norman history intertwined with the history of the castle, with a time line displays and many interesting characters to meet.
