Min stay duration 7 days in peak season, CHECK IN AND OUT ON A SATURDAY. (Peak season is all school holidays & bank holidays) Short stays available out of peak season. The home is a real home from home, perfectly located in the heart of the village, walking distance from several beaches, the pub, cafes, a playground and the coastal path. Designed and renovated by the owner Nicki the space is designed to really make you relax and enjoy your stay! The house faces the village green and therefore is not overshadowed by any other properties. This means from Sunrise to around 5 pm the front of the house is a sun trap. There is an outdoor dining area which connects to the interior dining area through fully retractable sliding windows. The garden at the front of the house is a perfect spot for reading a book and relaxing. Next to the front garden, accessed by the second gate are outdoor wash up facilities for sandy bodies from the beach and sports equipment which can be stored safely beside the shed. There is a drying rail for wetsuits and towels where the sports equipment is stored. Once you step inside the house you enter the dining space. this has bench seating surrounding the perimeter for lounging and then a 2 metre table which can seat up to 12. This space can be opened up to the outside through the full length window, or made cosy by night for long, lazy dinners. This room has underfloor heating for the winter months and is warm in the summers by the sun. Just off the sun room is the downstairs bathroom which is a wet room, comprising shower toilet and sink. There is hot water throughout the day supplied by the solar PV and air source heat pump. All efforts were made to refurbish the house to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. A set of sliding doors between the dining room and the rest of the ground floor space mean that you can open the space up completely or close it down for more privacy. Once out of the dining room you are in the heart of the original cottage. evidenced by the old stone walls and everything suddenly not being quite straight! The space has been opened up completely with the stairs to the first floor in the centre of two living spaces. One with the fire place and ercol style sofa set for lounging, reading and chatting to those in the kitchen. the other side with the tv, sofa (sofabed) and lounging chair. In this space you can chat to the people still having dinner or close them out with the louvre doors for some relaxing time. The kitchen is one step up from the living space through the old external wall of the cottage. there is a half height wall left between the spaces and floor to ceiling shelves for easy access to plates, cutlery, herbs, spices and all else you will need for cooking your meals on the large induction range hob. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, dish washer, washing machine and dryer as well as cafetiere, teapot, juicer, all you should need to prepare your meals and drinks throughout the day. On the first floor you turn left and right to access the two master bedrooms. These rooms face east and benefit from a beautiful sunrise. Each have a kingsize bed and facilities for folded and hanging clothes. Directly in front of you at the top of the stairs is the rear bedroom. this is a lovely cosy room with a sloping ceiling and double bed. At the rear this room gets the evening sunshine. The first floor bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet and sink. The last bedroom is accessed via a fixed timber loft ladder past the reading nook overlooking the village green. it is a cosy double bedroom with light from the sun tunnels in the roof. There is a fully glazed end to this gallery bedroom which overlooks the bedroom below. This space can be made completely private by the blind which covers the window. This room in combination with the one below is perfect for a family - kids love the loft room - or for friends who are comfortable with the combined but separate spaces. The loft has a protective guard rail around the opening and handrails on the ladder for safety for younger guests. There is a tripp trapp high seat provided plus a travel cot for those who need it. The house is ideal for families and groups of friends. You will have access to the whole house and lower garden. The top garden will be shared with the owner. All of the lower garden and external dining area is private for the guests. I will email you the house manual in advance of your stay with details where to find everything and how to work things. I will be there in my own space away from the house, so you may ask me questions if you need to. If you need anything in my absence then I have friends in the village who can help you. You are free to call or message me with any enquiries you may have on your stay. Marloes penninsula is surrounded on 3 sides by sea and fantastic beaches, miles of stunning walks and a more opportunities for activities or peace and quiet than you can shake a stick at. Marloes village is nestled in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with boat access to Skomer Island, famous for puffins and other bird life. If you don't have sea legs for the short crossing to Skomer island then Marloes Mere is a fantastic little marsh land with bird hide for watching the migrating and local birdlife. There is maps in the house for the local walks and should you wish to have a guided walk these can be organised in advance. Depending on the wind direction and tides there are 3 good surfing beaches in Marloes. Musslewick, Marloes sands and West dale. These are on different sides of the headland. For kayakers there are nice, easy entry adventures to be had from st Brides, Dale Harbour and Martins Haven. Dale harbour (the next village just a two mile walk across the old airfield or a 5 minute drive) is a busy sailing village with a good local pub serving fresh local fish. SUP, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking equipment can be hired from Dale sailing in the harbour. The pontoon is a popular crabbing spot for children. For divers there are two great shore dives close to Marloes. Martins Haven is a very nice, varied dive dropping rapidly to 25m from the shore. The dive has kelp forests, reef and plenty of sea life with; quite often - an inquisitive seal. St Brides is a shallow dive site. Maximum depth 12 metres. It is a great dive site. Absolutely teeming with life. Also lovely to snorkel this reef. As a certified instructor and experienced dive guide I can take experienced divers with their own equipment on guided dives. I will ask for proof of qualifications and experience. Tanks can be filled locally and if booking in advance hardboat diving is available at weekends. Each day has two dives around Skomer island and further afield. The richness of life in the local waters is not to be underrated as an experience. There are many good and well marked cycle routes around the area and further afield. I will make sure I provide as much information as I can in advance to suit your leisure plans. The local village pub is opposite the house. Serving standard pub food everyday with a large, sunny beer garden to the rear of the pub. Opposite the pub is the very well equipped playground for the kids to use. We are also very fortunate to have an amazing pizza and pasta business in the village. Run by Camille and her husband Jim. Camille makes incredible homemade pizzas. Book in advance Thurs, Fri and Saturday for collection just two minutes from the house. Runwayskiln cafe above marloes Sands is excellent for food. book in advance to avoid disappointment. A little further past the pub and clock tower heading back out of the village is the village shop. Run superbly by Paul and Stef and their daughters. This is a great resource for the village and the owners have a fantastic range of local food and drink produce to take home. Plus a cafe. This is also a post office so you can get money and send your postcards from here. I recommend you book a Tesco delivery to meet you on the day of your arrival. Or if you wish to shop yourself then the nearest towns are Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. These are also the last opportunity to fill upon petrol. It is 8 miles to milford and 12 to Haverfordwest. I'm sure this is an information overload by now. But I will answer any more questions you have and help you make arrangements or plans for your holiday. The local bus stops just in front of the house. The Puffin Shuttle 400 service runs a coastal route connecting Marloes to St Davids, calling at a number of coastal locations on the way. Currently it runs every day during the summer and Thursday and Saturday in winter. This service provides a very useful service for walkers allowing them to take the bus along the coast and walk back along the coastal footpath. The Puffin Shuttle 315 service runs between Marloes, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest. If all goes to plan the two services connect at Marloes, To see the timetables go to the Pembrokeshire County Council website and the up-to-date bus schedules. I will endeavor to have the latest timetables in the house. There is one parking space allocated to the house at the rear. You must park with consideration to others coming and going. I would encourage guests to car share for environmental reasons as well as the fact the Marloes gets extremely busy with cars in the summer months. There is a no parking rule at the front of the house (community council rule) I can find space for up to two other cars 5 minutes walk from the house. Strictly no pets allowed - apologies. There are two very friendly resident cats who live in their own shed at the top of the garden. For this reason as well as housekeeping and odours I regret not to be able to offer accommodation for dogs or other pets. This is not party house. it is a peaceful and wonderful place for family and friends. I have close neighbours so noise must be kept to a considerate level post 10pm. Please switch lights off in the day! I have had a few guests who have left the out door lights and some indoor lights on 24/7 7 days a week. This is really bad for the environment, it also annoys my neighbours! Please check all lights are off before bedtime or you go out for the day.
