Casa Pessina also has a rich archive of numerous documents, a series of plaster casts, marble and bronze sculptures, many drawings and over 2,820 photographs and plates. The Mendrisiotto is the Southern-most region of Switzerland and is characterised by gentle hills dotted with vineyards and numerous picturesque Old-Town centres. Famous for its Merlot wine, the region offers many activities such as grape harvesting (September/October) and various wine tours where guests can learn about wine-making, taste different wines and eat local delicacies. The Monte Generoso with its breathtaking views, numerous hiking trails and the new Fiore di Pietra building is a "must see" in the area. We also recommend visiting the Muggio valley, where nature, agriculture and tradition dominate the colourful landscape. Ligornetto can easily be reached by bus in 10 minutes from Mendrisio Via Motta bus stop (523 towards Gaggiolo Confine). After 9 stops get off the bus in Ligornetto Paese and walk for 100 metres to the property. Alternatively guests can drive to the property and park in the town centre's public carpark car park. Please note that a tourist tax of 2.00 CHF per person per night is payable on arrival. Please note that during Christmas, New Year, Easter and the summer season we prefer bookings of minimum 7 nights.
