Great holiday flat in the Austrian hills
Welcome to my flat in the hills of the lovely region of Vorarlberg, in the far West of Austria (next to Switzerland). 800 metres above sea level and around a 7 minute drive up from the valley below, the flat is very, very quiet and faces towards the Swiss mountains, with nice views out from the balcony. A great location for getting out and enjoying the region, whether in summer or winter, whether for walking, skiing, biking or all manner of other mountain activities on offer in the area. It is a 1-bedroom flat, around 50 square metres in size, formed of a combined kitchen/dining/living room, 1 double-sized bedroom, bathroom with bath/shower and a separate WC. There is wardrobe storage in the hallway and a nice little balcony with views out to the Austrian and Swiss mountains. Outside there is lots of free parking, while there is a washing machine, drying machine and drying space downstairs in the basement if needed (to use the washing machine you have to pay with 4 x 50 cent pieces). It is a very, very quiet space and great for relaxing when the day is done. Guests have access to the entire flat. This is my holiday flat in Austria and I live back in the UK most of the time. I will be available to help but only by phone and email. Very occasionally I will be there in person but not often. I will always tell you in advance how to get to and into the apartment (i.e. directions, if needed, and where to find the key). Suldis is a very small hamlet, about 800 metres above sea level, in the Zwischenwasser community of Vorarlberg. The apartment is within a set of holiday flat buildings, about 300 metres from Suldis itself. The area is extremely quiet and perfect for all the local activities whether skiing, walking, biking or more. The nearest ski resort is Laterns-Gapfohl, which is small with around 27km of pistes but nevertheless fun. That is around 12 minutes drive from the flat. There are lots of other ski resorts within a 30 minute to 1 hour drive from the flat including Silvretta Montafon, and Brandnertal. You will need a car to stay here as it is a 7-10 minute drive up into the hills/mountains from the nearest town (Rankweil) in the valley. That is where you will find the nearest amenities likes supermarkets, banks, restaurants, etc. There is a bus that goes up the hill to Batschuns (the next village down), but that is at least a 30 minute walk from the flat if you follow the road or 15 minutes if you go through the trail in the woods! I have walked it but I would not recommend it unless you want to get really fit! I do not live in Austria but will always let people know how to get the key and will help if they have any queries about the flat or the area. I have people locally who help me with the cleaning.
