Welcome to Lakeside @ Summerland Point, an absolute waterfront gem set amongst landscaped gardens & lawns, only 1 hour north of Wahroonga on Lake Macquarie. There is no public access to the waterfront, it's all yours. Stunning views of the lake greet you as you move through the open plan living area to the north facing covered balcony with gas BBQ & table setting. Lake Macquarie, the largest salt water lake in Australia, is right at your doorstep. Bring your boat & tie up to our private jetty. Only launch once, the boat ramp is 2 minutes drive away. Enjoy fishing, water skiing or cruising around this beautiful lake. Boats can be hired at Cams Wharf. Otherwise take a paddle in our kayaks, 1 double & 1 single, fish or swim from the jetty or simply relax, soaking up the tranquillity on the balcony overlooking the lake or on the lakeside hammock. Have a look at our Facebook page (search for Lakeside at Summerland Point) THE HOUSE The house is well stocked with indoor & outdoor games, including table tennis, table soccer, darts, board games, totem tennis, boules & sports balls. THE LOCAL AREA Walk along the lakeside reserve form the boat ramp to Sandy Beach (swimming area & playground) & beyond. Children’s playgrounds are located in Summerland Point near the boat ramp & at Sandy Beach & in Gwandalan Lioness Park Playground . Walk along the Heritage walk to Gwandalan. Catherine Hill Bay, our favourite local beach, is also popular with surfers. There are 3 parking areas – first at the Surf Club, then just before the hill & lastly beside the cemetery. The northern end is our preferred end. It is ever changing with the tide & weather & we enjoy swimming there. There is also a rock platform to explore. Take thongs or similar as it is rough underfoot. The southern end is patrolled by life savers in season. The heritage listed Catho Pub is a popular place to visit. They have live music on Sunday afternoons plus Saturday afternoons in summer. Munmorah State Conservation Area, park entry fees apply. Frazer Beach is another favourite beach, patrolled in season & we love walking along the rocks to Gravelly Beach ideally at a lowish tide, again take thongs. The view from Wybung Head is spectacular. There is also nudist Birdie Beach. . Budgewoi Beach, encompassing also Birdie Beach to the north & Lakes Beach to the south- patrolled, is a really long beach that is lovely to stroll along.
