Spacious suite w. private bathroom near UoB, QE
Spacious, bright and private top-floor suite with it's own full bathroom, in a charming old rowhouse in the heart of Harborne. Central location: 2 min. walk to the popular Harborne High St, with numerous restaurants and pubs, cafes and stores to browse, and good transport connections; 10 min walk (0.5 miles) to QE Hospital, 20 min walk to University of Birmingham (0.8 miles). I'm currently fostering two cats, so assuming your pets are ok with cats, they're welcome to come. :) Lots of room to relax and spread out, including a desk to work at overlooking treetops, open space to do some yoga / work out, full private bathroom with new fixtures (sink, toilet and shower), a kettle if you'd like to make yourself a cup of tea in your suite, and of course, a comfortable queen bed to sleep in. Usually very quiet (faces garden), with great treetop and sunset views. Inside lock on suite door for extra privacy (although I typically have no need to go upstairs unless it's an emergency!). Parking: Free street parking (although it's not always easy to snag a spot). Bikes: There's also a safe place to keep bikes (walkway between houses behind a locked gate). In addition to your private "suite" upstairs, you're also welcome to use the kitchen for light food prep / cooking and eating (seating at island), and backyard garden (highly recommend the hammock in the warmer months!). You're also welcome to use the washing machine, however please note that there isn't a clothes dryer (I can give you a handy hanging rack for your room if you like). I do really enjoy being a host... I'm happy to be social / offer advice on best places to eat or explore nearby; also equally happy to leave people to themselves. :) I do like to be able to greet guests on first arrival, but if that's not possible, there is a designated lockbox key (instructions shared via Airbnb app before arrival). Once you have your set of keys (separate from lockbox key), you're welcome to come and go as you like / no need to keep me informed of your plans. Totally fine to leave / come home at whatever time you please. I have lovely neighbours that have been very supportive of my Airbnb efforts, so you're welcome to say hello if you see them (up to you!); my only ask is that you're conscious of not making too much / loud noise late at night ("normal" noise is totally fine...) as I of course want to keep them happy, too! If I'm not home, I can be reached via phone / text or via Airbnb messaging if you have any questions or issues. Two min walk to heart of Harborne High Street, rated one of the UK's best by the Sunday Times (really!). :) Some of the most popular restaurants in Birmingham, including Harborne Kitchen and the Plough, and many great cafes and pubs including Arco Lounge, Boston Tea Party, Cafe Nero, Damascena, the Junction, Paper Duck, the Proud Sicilian, the Giggling Squid, Holy Moly, Wok Chi... and many more. Also convenient stores like Waitrose, M&S, Boots, SuperDrug, Home Bargains, and Post Office all within 3 min walk from front door. 10 min. walk (0.5 miles) to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and 20 min. walk (0.8 miles) to University of Birmingham). Farmer's Market every second Saturday is also a treat. House is on a quiet street just off the main Harborne High Street, with several bus connections to city centre and other areas; there's also a taxi stand about 2 blocks away, and city scooters are available for renting / often nearby. It's approx £7-10 to take an Uber to the city centre, £10-12 for a taxi. Takes 15 min with "normal" traffic, but can take a bit longer during peak times. Also secure space to store bikes. Suite is on top floor which means good privacy, but also two flights of somewhat steep stairs (well-lit with handrail). Fine for most, but worth noting! Really appreciate if you can remove your shoes when you come in. Feel free to store shoes in cubby at front door of house, or bring upstairs if you prefer. I'm currently fostering two friendly cats. :)
