Modern Eclectic 2-bedroom apt. in Athens
Modern Eclectic in Ampelokipi At the crossroads of V. Sofias & Alexandras avenues beats the heart of one of Athens oldest and aristocratic neighbourhoods. Ampelokipi - named after the vineyards that occupied the landscape before urbanisation. In a quiet street is the apartment I grew up in. A modern space of 100 sq. meters in a clasical building, an ideal space to host anyone planning to visit Athens. The 100 m. sq. apartment is comprised of a large living room with an adjoining dinning room, 2 large bedrooms, a fully equiped kitchen, and full bath with a jacuzzi tub. The balcony is roomy enough to enjoy breakfast al fresco. Recently renovated with focus on functionality and comfort. I have partnered with Super-Host Eleni Theanopoulou to ensure a memorable stay for you. Following your reservation, your will receive detailed information on how to make your way to the apartment. At your arrival Elina will be at the apartment to greet you and provide any information you need - about the facilities, the area and Athens in general. During your stay she will be available via phone / email to help you as needed. If needed we can arrange airport transfers, as well as parking in the area. Welcome to one of Athens most aristocratic neighborhoods. A place that, despite the rapid growth of the last decades, has maintained its authenticity and color. A neighborhood where you will still find 3nd and 4th generation Athenians (or Ampelokipiotes as they prefer to be called) walking around, shoping at the mom & pop stores, or having coffee at the small cafes that dot the area. A quiet neighbourhood, surrounded by such landmarks as the Athens Tower, the US embassy, the vibrant Mavili Square, the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis) and Park of Freedom (Parko Eleftherias). Two Km away from Syntagma (Constitution) Square and the Greek parliament with easy access via Metro, bus, or trolley. The day in Ampelokipi starts early, and there will always be a local bakery to entice you with fresh baked bread and local delicacies. Or you can follow the smell of fresh ground coffee at Agios Thomas or Mavili square and surounding areas. As the day progresses your options widen – You can select any of the small ‘street food’ options that have flourished in the last few years and combine with a cool beer or a glass of wine. From the afternoon onwards, friends and colleagues meet in known hang-outs in the area for drinks and vibrant discussions. The area is active until late at night and very often the evening closes at Mavili square and the famous cantine which for decades has been the after-hours spot for students, artists, clubers, and intellectuals. 2 Metro stations ( Megaro Mousikis & Ampelokipi) are a short 10 minute walk away. Bus and Trolleys stops with regular service are 5 minutes away.
