It is your “home-away-from-home” with Chesapeake Bay sunrise views from the front and a view of Deep Creek/lake and sunsets from the covered backporch and backyard. Outdoors you will see and hear many of the 120 bird species native to St. Mary’s County including osprey, bald eagle, snowy egret, Great Blue heron, cardinal, oriole, dove, blue jay and the occasional pelican. The Hideaway is a safe, grandparent and kid-friendly property yet isolated enough to be a perfect couple's get away or a “Friends Weekend” at the beach. Perfect for a group of 2 or 8 overnight. (Family parties are allowed with prior approval) Well- equipped Kitchen includes small appliances: Keurig 12-Cup Coffee Maker Carafe & Single-Serve Brewer, toaster, blender, mixer, milk frother, traditional crock pot, margarita machine, kettle, blender, air fryer and Belgian waffle iron. The largest bedroom has a queen bed and two twin daybeds, round table, 4 chairs and recliner/rocker. Two additional bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house: one with queen bed and chair and one with two twin beds. Two comfy, deep-seated Klauusner sofa’s are large enough for naps and lounging in the open floor-plan living room. The 30’ covered back-porch is well-outfitted with Kenmore Elite Gas Grill, 50qt Cooler and stand, 8’ teak table with 6 reclining, teak dining chairs and 2 cushioned teak chaise lounge chairs. The backyard offers Sunset views, birdwatching, grassy / sandy areas for play and Gazebo with table and 4 reclining dining chairs The Gameroom (shed) stores several backyard games such as: cornhole boards/bags, Giant Jenga, soccer and footballs, frisbie’s and telescope. Also pool, ping-pong, air hockey, Fusbol, darts and a Telescope. The glass enclosed porch which fronts the house is perfect for both dining (8 seat farmhouse-style table/benches) and relaxing on comfy sofa and cushioned wicker loveseat. The blue hutch stores tools for crackin’ crabs and shucking oysters. Want more activity? Take a walk or run on Holly Drive, on the beach or take a short 5 mile drive to Pt Lookout St Park and hike the birch, oak, hickory, and pine forest or explore the marshy shorelines of the Potomac River where you’ll find frogs, diamond-back turtles, growing baby blue crabs and horseshoe crab. Swimming, kayaking, paddle board, boating, fishing, running along miles of natural shoreline of Hays Beach - and it's equally great to float on the calm Bay water, walk or relax on the sandy beach enjoying collecting smooth stones, sea glass, listening to the sounds of nature and the water lapping on the shoreline, writing or reading a good book. Bring your boat to nearby Buzz’s Marina or Drury’s Marina or book a charter boat to fish the deeper waters offshore and relax on the Bay while the Captain sails you to the best fishing spots.
