A true gem located in Marcadis, Near Moncrabeau. An area of outstanding beauty with over 13 Acres of grounds including a 3 Acre lake. A great area to wildlife watch, walk, relax, meditate, fish, swim, star gaze, or just get involved with Nature. Located between the beautiful towns of Nerac and Condom (Lot-et-Garonne/Gers) however far enough away for people who enjoy the peace and quiet of Nature. We are an LPO refuge so are very passionate about Nature, Wildlife and the environment. There are many gardens throughout the grounds that have been developed for certain animals/wildlife in mind. We regularly introduce new homes for the wildlife. Marcadis Gite is a 1 Bedroom holiday cottage attached to the owners 1817 farm house complete with its own entrances, gardens and social area. The Accommodation is a large open plan Gite that can accommodate 2 adults and is situated in a position to appreciate the fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. We try and cater for all needs to ensure that you have a fabulous stay. The Gite is very rustic with added extras such as: Mezzanine Bedroom: double bed, highest quality white Egyptian cotton bedding, Egyptian cotton towels, Egyptian cotton bathrobes, hairdryer, radio alarm clock. Lounge/Diner: sofa, chaise longue, log burner, welcome packs, maps and literature of the surrounding area, WiFi, French TV, Stereo with large selection of CD's, Blue tooth speaker, Cinema DVD player and DVD's, record player and records, shoe cleaning kit, dining table and chairs. Bathroom/wet room: large shower, toiletries, Egyptian cotton towels. Kitchen: dishwasher, microwave, Oven, fridge, freezer, tea/coffee making facilities, coffee maker, all high quality crockery and cutlery. Extras: Front outside dining area with table, chairs and barbecue. Watch for Pine martins, coypus, badgers, deer, wild boar, foxes, red squirrels, hares. Say hello to Alfie (the rescue dog), Sunflower, Dumpy and Ginger (our rescue cats) and our 22 rescue ex battety hens.. Down by the lake you will see a large selection of birds, toads and frogs. We also have many wild meadows with some amazing flowers such as wild orchids and bumblebee orchids. We have placed many hammocks, tables, chairs and benches in and around the grounds so you can just sit, relax and enjoy the views, wildlife, and weather. This is a truly beautiful place for a relaxing break if you love nature, the outdoors and wildlife. There are also spotters hides around the grounds. If you do enjoy nature and want to watch the animals please ask Darren to set up his spotters scope inside the hides and also make use of our binoculars. We can provide hot water bottles and blankets in cooler times - just ask. Guest access Guests will have use of all the gardens, woodland and lake. Plus all the owners garden games, archery, telescope, binoculars, fishing kit. They also have their own front garden and also back garden with BBQ area The neighbourhood 8 mile to Nerac - 13 minute drive 5 mile to Condom - 10 minutes drive 2.5 mile to Moncrabeau - 7 minute drive Located near the commune of Moncrabeau. Moncrabeau the gates of Gers, is located halfway between Nerac and Condom, in the heart of Gascony. It's tradition of the 18th Century is the world capital of liars. Visit to see the 13th Century church, the Palace of Pomarede, every first Sunday of August: International Festival of Menteries with the Coronation of Queen or King of the Liars of the year. Nerac is a town on the Southern edge of the Lot-Et-Garonne of South West France. Full of Medieval buildings to discover. Visit the Cluster buildings just north of the old bridge. Take a look at the wonderful Colombage (half timbered) buildings of the old tanneries. Over the river you will find the Church of Notre Dame. It is the Chateaux Henry IV that attracts most visitors to Nerac. You can also view the town hall which was once the towns prison. There is also a guided walk around Nerac. There are many outstanding buildings dating from the 15th and 17th centuries. Nerac must be visited to realise it's beauty. Condom, also referred to as Condom-en-Armagnac, is a commune in Southwestern France in the department of Gers. The town was once an important stopping point on one of the pilgrimage paths to Santiago de Compostella, around which the town developed. The principal highlight in Condom is the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre and its associated cloisters. Getting around You will require either a car or bicycle to get around. We have 4 bicycles available in the Gite. We do have many walkers. Review Rando 47 for more information. Other things to note We do not have a large swimming pool but there is a dipping pool to relax in plus the lovely clear lake. There is a fabulous swimming pontoon with a BBQ relaxation area attached.
