Nautical Paradise, Water Access Only Getaway
Ahoy! This peaceful waterfront sea shack is dedicated to all things sun, sea & sailing. Fresh nautical-inspired interiors bring the watery outside in with a large open-plan living area with louvered windows & white lime wash timber floors. Roast marshmallows by the wood fire, step out on your private deepwater jetty & unwind on an expansive deck extending over the sea. NB. Tides Reach is a water-access only cottage. Guests drive to Church Point metered carpark & step aboard the on-demand 6min watertaxi or BYO boat with complimentary mooring. (Hidden by Airbnb) ’s a relaxing escape for families or groups of up to 10 people to enjoy the Pittwater lifestyle all year round and have the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park as your backyard. Located on the western foreshore at McCarrs Creek, there are only approx. 20 cottages so you are experiencing one of the smallest suburbs in Sydney. You are completely immersed in nature - no shops, no cafes and no cars - yet only a quick 6min motor boat ride away to civilisation. Spread over two floors to soak up the waterfront views, there are four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, new fully-equipped kitchen with Nespresso machine and a fireplace. Enjoy alfresco dining on the expansive partially-fenced deck using your weber BBQ whilst watching the boats sail by and the magical sunsets. The house’s charm is that it’s accessible only by boat due to the bordering Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park (whilst officially located on the mainland). The open-planned living area has a fire place, large reverse cycle air-conditioner and portable fans and heaters are located in each bedroom. THINGS TO DO: •New Inflatable SUP x 1 and Kayaks x 2 (1 adult and 1 junior) and paddles for use at the right of the house. Full access to the house, deck, jetty and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park walking track behind the house I have a knowledgable and discreet caretaker, Matthew Gargan, that resides in a separate cottage at the rear of the property. The beautiful bushland, waterways and beaches of Pittwater are a short 50min drive from Sydney's CBD. The cottage is on a natural estuary with beaches to its east, the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park directly behind the cottage, and waterside communities nestled about its shores. It's a remote island-like setting in one of Sydney's smallest suburbs 'McCarrs Creek Western foreshore' with no cars, cafes or restaurants. However it's just a quick 6min water taxi or kayak to Church Point. Car parking: Guests will need to park their cars overnight in the open-air Church Point metered public car park ($35 - $40 per day) located to the right of the Pasadena building near the Ferry Wharf (there isn't any nearby or free overnight street parking available). Please be mindful that the car park is very busy in Summer and on weekends so allow plenty of time. Closest boat ramp and trailer parking: overnight pay and display parking at Rowland Reserve, Bayview which is $35 - $40 per day. This is a 6 min drive from Church Point car park. Once guests arrive at Tides Reach, complimentary mooring is provided for one boat (up to 50ft). Watertaxi: Guests can easily commute to the house via the on-demand Pink watertaxi which takes only 6 mins and costs approx $35 one-way for up to 6 people from Church Point Ferry Wharf. Buses: 156 bus departs from Church Point Wharf to Mona Vale. To travel northbound from Mona Vale - take the L90 or 199 buses to Palm Beach OR to travel southbound take the B-line or L90 buses to Wynyard Train station, Sydney CBD. Visit: (Website hidden by Airbnb) Best mainland cafes: (take water taxi/hire boat to Church Point car park first) - Waterfront Store & Cafe and Pasadena lawn popup cafe van, Church Point: (6 mins by boat) - Armchair Collective or Three Doors Down, Mona Vale (10 mins drive) - The Newport – relaunched by the Merivale crew in March (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Great pub food (15 mins and accessible by boat) - Flying Fox cafe - basic cafe but good playground and scooter track (8 mins drive) Tides Reach is a truely unique experience as it's a water-access only property. Please allow holiday budget for car parking fees ($35 - 40 per day) and water taxi trips (approx. $35 one-way for up to 6 people). Tides Reach is not recommended for young children aged 4 yrs and under (or non-swimmers). This is because the front deck extends over the water and is only partially fenced, due to the deep water jetty. HOW TO GET TO TIDES REACH: Car park: Guests will need to park their car/s overnight at the Church Point pay and display carpark ($35 - $40 per day). Allow ample time to park your car as the public car park is very popular on the weekends and in Summer. Trailer parking and boat ramp: use the overnight Rowland Reserve, Bayview pay and display parking which is $35 - $40 per day (6min drive from Church Point car park).
