A quiet rural retreat that's perfect for two
Wich Hazel's apartment is an individual and secluded space set in a quiet country lane between Woodfalls and Downton. Perfectly placed for The New Forest National Park, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, Winchester. Bath, Dorset's Jurassic Coast or the Isle of Wight are just over and hours drive away. The area has a good choice of local restaurants, pubs and even a village brewery. Whether it's a cultural, relax and unwind or adventure break Wich Hazel is a great base. This open plan apartment is set in its own beautiful garden. With private access through own garden and courtyard. The stable door opens to a small but fully fitted kitchen. Five steps up to large light open planned room with triple aspects of the garden, the lane and countryside The en-suite offers a separate shower and large double ended bath. The super king bed can be made up as two 3ft singles if preferred. Please request this when booking. There is clearly marked off road parking space for one car on the shared drive at the front of the property. Access to the apartment, courtyard and private garden is solely for our guest use. We have a key safe and encourage self check in. To offer the highest standard cleaning we are only offering weekly bookings and will change duvets, pillows, mattress protectors etc as well as the normal linen provided. The apartment will be cleaned personally by us and sanitiser and cleaning products will be available for your use. To maintain social distancing and your privacy, we will leave a watering can next to the outside tap and ask that you water the planters and tubs in the courtyard if needed. We live next door and will be happy to assist if needed. This is a very quiet spot with little traffic. At the top of the lane, our local post office & stores offer groceries, local produce and makes legendary filled rolls . Downton is only minutes away offering a small supermarket, independent butchers, pharmacy, village cafe, and many good pubs in the surrounding villages, offering excellent local beers and food made from locally sourced ingredients. Public transport is very limited and we do recommend a car. However the walking and cycling from Wich Hazel is great. Slab Lane is one of Wiltshire's designated cycle ways although it is fairly steep in places. We are on the Avon Valley path a long-distance walking route from Salisbury to Christchurch Priory and the sea. There are so many lovely forest or downland walks so don't forget your walking boots. Hire locally or bring your bicycle's we have lockable storage in the garage. The farmland around us is arable and you need to be aware that farm machinery does use the lane
