Howard's Hut

Welcome to our hand-crafted shepherd's hut built by local company Pumphrey and Weston. We are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty only 4 miles from the city of Truro in a very quiet and peaceful location. The hut is self-contained with electric hob (2 rings), small fridge, kettle, toaster, wood burner, comfortable double bed, ensuite bathroom with shower and private patio. There is off-road parking for guests. Our place is great for walkers and cyclists as we have direct access onto the mineral tramway which stretches across to Portreath on the north coast. There are numerous footpaths for exploring the local area and the famous coastal footpath is within easy reach for walkers wishing to complete sections on either the north or south coast. Loe beach, for sailing and water sports, is a 5 minute drive. Visitors can hire boats, kayaks and paddle boards or take lessons to learn the basics. For land lubbers there is a café where you can eat freshly prepared food whilst enjoying the views across the Carrick Roads and watching others take to the water. The port of Falmouth is 9 miles away and can be reached by road or ferry from Truro or Trelissick Gardens. The surfing beaches of the north coast are also only 9 miles away. There are two pubs within walking/cycling distance offering a range of beers and home-cooked meals. Unsere Hütte liegt in einer ländlichen Gegend, lediglich 3 Meilen von der Stadt Truro entfernt. Es ist gut für Wanderer oder Fahrradfahrer, da wir direkten Zugang zu den ‘mineral tramway’ haben, welche bis nach Portreath an der Nordküste reichen. Es gibt zahlreiche Fuβwege, um die örtliche Umgebung zu erkunden und der berühmte Küstenwanderweg ist innerhalb einfacher Reichweite. Der Strand ‘Loe beach’, für Segeln und Wassersport, ist 5 Fahrtminuten entfernt. Besucher können Boote, Kayake und Bretter für Stand Up Paddling ausleihen oder eine Übungsstunde machen, um die Grundkenntnisse zu lernen. Der Hafen von Falmouth ist 9 Meilen entfernt und kann über die Straβe oder mit einer Fähre von Truro oder Trelissick Gardens erreicht werden. Die Surfstrände der Nordküste sind ebenfalls nur 9 Meilen entfernt. Es gibt zwei schöne Kneipen, welche beide in Fuβ-/ Fahrradnähe erreichbar sind und wir haben zwei Fahrräder verfügbar, die von den Gästen genutzt warden können. Notre roulotte se situe dans la campagne, mais à seulement 5 kilomètre de la ville de Truro, une position idéale pour les amateurs de marche et de cyclisme, puisque nous avons un accès direct au « mineral tramway » qui s'étend jusqu'à Portreath sur la côte Nord. De nombreux chemins balisés existent pour explorer la région et le célèbre chemin qui longe toute la côte est facilement accessible. Loe Beach, une plage parfaite pour une sortie en bateau ou pour profiter des sports aquatiques, est à 5 minutes en voiture. Les visiteurs peuvent louer des bateaux, des kayaks ou des planches de surf, ou bien prendre des leçons pour débuter. Le port de Falmouth est à 15 kilomètres, et est accessible en voiture ou en ferry depuis Truro ou les jardins de Trelissick. Les plages de surfs sur la côte Nord ne sont également qu'à 15 kilomètres. Vous trouverez deux pubs très agréables tout près, à pieds ou à vélo, et nous avons deux vélos disponibles à l'usage de nos visiteurs. Si estás buscando un lugar idílico donde pasar tus vacaciones en un área donde, encima, puedes conducir o ir en bici hasta las principales atracciones o lugares de interés… Entonces, ¡no busques más! Nuestra cabaña se encuentra en el campo, a solo 3 millas (menos de 5 km) de la ciudad de Truro. Está en el lugar ideal para dar preciosos paseos a pie o en bici. Cuenta con un acceso directo a las antiguas vías del tranvía minero que atraviesan Portreath, en la costa norte. Aquí contamos con numerosas rutas para explorar el área local, entre ellas las famosas rutas costeras que son muy fáciles de encontrar en esta zona. Para navegar o practicar deportes acuáticos, la playa de Loe es tu mejor elección, y ¡está solo a cinco minutos en coche! Se puede alquilar un barco, un kayak y tablas de paddle o tomar clases de cualquier deporte acuático. El puerto de Falmouth está a 9 millas (menos de 15km) en coche, pero también está la posibilidad de coger el ferry desde Truro o desde Trelissick Gardens. Las playas de surf se encuentran en la costa del norte que está a tan solo 9 millas de distancia. Hay dos auténticos pubs encantadores a los que se puede ir a pie o en bici. Languages spoken: French, German and Spanish. The hut is situated in a small, quiet village, surrounded by farmland at the head of a tidal creek which is of particular interest to nature lovers. . The popular National Trust property Trelissick Gardens is 2 miles away and offers woodland walks with spectacular views towards Falmouth and beyond. The recently opened house is well worth a visit and there is also a café, gallery and shop.
