A café in the main square. restaurants – a wood-fired oven pizzeria (La Vecchia Oliviera). A post office, a bank (with a cashpoint), a pharmacy, two hardware shops, a newsagent, two hairdressers, a police station and two churches. Parking at the top of the village (two hundred meters from the house) is free and plentiful. Excellent local beaches – Alberese, on the edge of a national park, (30 mins) and Marina di Grosseto/Principina (25 mins). Mediaeval towns of Montalcino (30 mins) where the famous Brunello wine is made; Pienza (50 mins), famous for its renaissance architecture and peccorino cheese; Siena (50 mins) one of Tuscany's most beautiful cities & home of the Palio. Hot springs (Petriolo (25 mins), Bagni Vignoni (45 mins) and Saturnia (1 hr). Tourist attractions, such as the monastery of Sant'Antimo (45 mins), the famous frescos in the abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore (1 hr), and the frescos by Piero della Francesca in Arrezo (1 hr). Florence and all her treasures are only 1 ½ hrs away.
